My brother has an 04 Cav with a 2.2 eco tech engine. He recently had some trouble with it. He started it once and it ran real ruff and stumbly turned it off and it started up and ran fine. Happened once more to his son turned it off restarted and ran fine. Then one day he pulled into the garage and turned it off and later when he went to leave it wouldn't start. Ended up having low compression. So he tore it down and found that the cylinders (especially on the side toward the back of the engine) were scuffed up. He took it down to the machine shop and the guy said that it looked like it had been over fueling and rinsed all the oil film of the pistons and cylinders. The rest of the engine looked immaculate. Ever hear of such a thing? No codes nothing

Over feuling of that severity I would think a misfire would be heard and felt. Umm, as for the random stuff, could be coils or ignition module.

No codes is wierd. What's the miles?
