    Portin Heads...

I work at a place that we build prototype engines. we do anything and everything. We have done welding on cast iron but its very difficult to do with out cracking. The cast iron has to be PERFECTLY clean otherwise it will not create a clean weld. And you have to heat the piece up to a constant...

before and after GM-8 to an ATT

It definitely did not come from turbine housing, it was old corroded cast iron had to be the manifold or cross over

before and after GM-8 to an ATT

Well since Nov of last year after i got my ATT installed drove it around a little wanting to pull the camper to get a before and after result. As I was driving it one day I heard a pop and noticed I had a nice turbo whistle but my max boost was only peaking @ 10psi. So after all this time...

New here +motor build up ?'s

I definitely noticed a difference in power, I haven't done any 0-60 performance after results since my ATT turbo is only puttin out 10psi (havent had time to find the exhaust leak) but when I do I will be able to post results. I have already got the pre 0-60 results, pulling a 32ft 7500 lbs...

New here +motor build up ?'s

IMO Anything lower than 20:1 is a pain to start, Slim's truck is a 18:1 truck and he said if he did it all over again he wouldn't do it. The truck is hard starting all the time and smokes everytime on start up and its not because of any injector or pump problems. Its combustion temps are to low...

    pre cups

Inconel is a nickel based superalloy and is not used in automotive applications(that I know of, may be in some exotic applications) I have machined alot of this and Waspaloy and Hastaloy all nasty stuff to machine it ruins carbide in a big hurry. They use these alloys in aerospace and aircraft...

    ATT or Heath reflash

Yes I tow some heavy loads 20K, but when I do I shift it manually with the TCC locksup early unless I shift it manually there fore I can run the r's up a little more with less throttle pressure. Iam sure you can break the input shaft if your not careful but I try to be gentle when towing...

    Missy goes full retro

The best electric fuel pumps for our diesels is the old style beer car faucet pumps. I found one off a Onan generator and have had it on for 4 years with it never skipping a beat. This pump has 3 years of thick veggie oil running through it, thats abuse for a fuel pump! I found another one...

    Missy goes full retro

I love them too, my 83 CC with 335K was my daily driver for 4 years 110 miles a day to work. It a Custom Deluxe so rubber floors and full vinyl bench seats(easy clean up). the best thing these trucks have that they don't make anymore is vent windows and floor vents below the A pillar, They sure...

    ATT or Heath reflash

When I got my PCM reflashed from Lyndon at westers I had him do it. I had to return it 3 times to get it right, he was great to work with, since I was the first to request this it was a trial and error. The problem was what speed to tell the pcm to lock up. To get it right the magic number...

    porting precups

Buddy, I think buying a junk set of heads would be cheaper than a new set of cups. I heard that they are about 70 bucks a piece from the stealership!

    ATT or Heath reflash

You can't put the cart before the horse. To get all the benefits of the ATT you got to have enough fuel to feed that beast!

before and after GM-8 to an ATT

Just thought I would post a couple pics to show the significant difference of the little tiny inefficient GM8 to the free flowin ATT. I also ran some 0 to 60 times pulling my 32ft 8000lbs Travel Trailer with the GM 8 and will do some with the ATT I will post the results:thumbsup:

    porting precups

You would'nt damage anything, you would just get to a point were size of the port would lose its efficiency there fore lose power. And no this is not an experimental engine, just an everyday truck

    porting precups

Matt, wouldnt know, there is still more material to be removed. I would like to do another set but bigger, to see if bigger is better. The best way would be to have a dyno set up and have a bunch of different variations

    porting precups

Exactly the 82 6.2's had the best milage but the slowest, very small pre cups Emissions, when I am towing 20,000 lbs thats the least of my worries the more power the better:thumbsup:
