There is some signifigant fabbing to make centermount work. I don't have any pictures off the old truck but maybe I can take some of my c1500 when it goes back together.

This is all stock other than turbo and fuel system. My truck gets the centermount setup. We had it on one of our trucks with a 71mm turbo and had fun hurting feelings . Wish we had dynoed that thing because it had no problem running alongside 600+ hp trucks and soundly beating anything less.

The dyno was having issues that day and only read power to the mid 3k rpms but we are fueling to 5k. Dyno operator felt bad and said he feels like it was reading low by 25 to 50hp. Hard to say. This is a baseline so we have a solid starting point

This particular engine is a p400 and this was only 140 ccs of fuel from a 4911 pump I threw together quickly. And it was run on a chassis dyno.

    6.5 to vm638

We made a few of the parts to convert them. Did at least 2 pumps, the one puts out 220 cc's of fuel and it has compound turbos on. It's a lot of fun to drive

We converted a few of these engines to mechanical injection pump. Works really nice.

What type of fuel mileage can a Ford Excursion 4x4 DIESEL be made to get? What does one have to do

Tuning is the best thing you can do along with upgraded exhaust and intake . 7.3 or the 6.0 can get over 20mpg .

    Trouble with the Optimizer 6.5

I don't think the p400 heads have this issue but I've never had a p400 head to check out.

    Trouble with the Optimizer 6.5

The ones I saw that were hitting the pistons were only recessed at .30 thousandths if I remember correctly It's been a while since I worked on one the newer heads so I'm not 100 percent sure on the numbers anymore. And yes it was an issue with the intake valve opening prematurely. The worst head...

    Trouble with the Optimizer 6.5

The valves are not actually floating. It is the intake valve and what happened is that the valve is not recessed into the seat far enough and it is coming open before the piston is leaving tdc. If it was an exhaust valve then it would be a floating or sticking issue. On the newer casting the...

    Trouble with the Optimizer 6.5

I've seen this exact problem with the newer castings. Looks like the rings are not sealing properly and the valves are hitting the pistons which is from the valves not being recessed into the seats properly. Been there seen this exact set of problems before. I'm not impressed with the newer...

What the hell did I buy? Holset HX40...

Looks like a 19cm turbine housing. It's a genuine Holset. With a 14cm t3 housing it will work nicely but the t4 housings spool very hard .

?? about db pumps output cc's or displacement per rev

Anyone who is good with injection pumps will gladly tell you what the pumps put out. We typically don't measure them at part throttle but if it's requested we can . I've seen 160 cc's out a 2831 pump without doing any signifigant mods .

?? about db pumps output cc's or displacement per rev

2831 turned up as far as the screw will allow can put out around 90cc's of fuel per 1000 revolutions. Cc's per 1000 revolutions is a standard measurement in the injection pump world.
