in doing some research most modern tachs will run off either a coil signal or the alternator signal so thats why i was askin cuz mine was hooked up right but giving me a bad signal.
and no i dont know the pulley size.
well according to some other posts ive read, the pulse output is almost exactly the same as what the tach looks for in a gas engine but it was mentioned that different alternators sometimes come with different pulleys and will giv an incorrect reading.
so i bought a sunpro 52mm tach for my truck and got it wired up, hooked it up to the alternator and the thing works except at idle its showing my truck running at 3500rpms...now i KNOW this is wrong lol so i've read that the reason for this is the pulley size being wrong but i cant find anything...
ok looking to up the fuel output of my 4911 pump and i read on another forum that you open up the littleplate on the side and use an allen to turn up the pump but i ran into a little problem...to "turn it up" do you screw it in 1/8" or screw it out an 1/8"?
ok i gotcha, well yeah when i head back up there this weekend i'll check it out...the '97 block with the piston oil squirters you mentioned...that a good block? should i look into re-building it instead of scrapping it?
ok awesome guys that totally helps me out, yes the donor motor was out of an automatic but mine is a manual so that would totally explain why there is no TPS plug anywhere on the truck.
As far as the year motor...i'm going back up to dallas this weekend to hopefully finish getting it put back...
ok did a motor swap cuz the old motor is junk and turns out the new motor my dad picked up for the truck was out of a 92...now the only difference i've seen so far is that the holes where the oil cooler lines plug into are different sizes between the 92 and the 93...yeah wierd.
anyways i am...
