Very cool.
Nice to have only one head.
30 PSI boost and only 250 hp? Seems like it should be a lot faster than the 6.5.
Nice work......those early model CC/SB trucks are rare. Built beefier than what we've got now, that's for sure. Did you have fitment issues with the 4x4 and tall motor?
Has anyone else replaced their fuel filter head o rings?
I took mine out, and they were visibly cracked.
I also noticed this same cracking with an o ring on my TDI. Common theme is that I run B80 in both.
Anyone else seen BD eating their o rings?
Ive been running commercially produced B50-B80 in the truck, tractor and two TDI's for the past 4 years. I buy 4 drums twice a year and gravity dispense it into my 5g tanks and lug it to the vehicle.
The problem is with changing between D2 and biodiesel. It causes the seals in the pumps and...
Thanks Ferm....sounds like it is best to go and buy a 2500 and match it year for year....
Wish I could get my hands on a salvage LLY truck....I'm too worried about the LB7 injector issues...
Would be fun though....especially if it could be done for under 16k.
Hmmm....ya, I read TDIguy's thread and he had pix and video posted but now removed. No sense in letting out that data since he started doing them for profit...
Would a 2500 suburban (2003+) be easier in terms of motor and trans mountings?
Is it possible or do we have to step up to a 2500 Suburban frame?
It would be easier than swapping a Dmax into a 1991-1999 truck, right?
Seems like if the 6.0 is used in the Tahoe, the motor mounts would line up with the ones on the Dmax, since that engine is also used in the 2500HD...
I drive a 5.3 for work......EC/SB Z71 4x4. Not sure what the rear axle is (2000 rpm is over 70 mph) so it is pry the tall one. The truck is a dog. 15 mpg though with a good bit of towing, hills and town.
Most annoying thing is that there is some sort of trans protection software for reverse...
Take some BD into a transparent jar and make sure it is clear if left in the bed of the truck overnight.
If not, the cloud point of that particular brand of BD is not good enough for your weather conditions. Blend with diesel accordingly to get the cloud point up. I would say that B50-B80...
Looks like I'm all set then! I opened one up after reading this, looked pretty good. Not symmetrically perfect, but good.....
You get your bean problem taken care of?
Thanks for the info......I think my corn is good for now....other than having to be watered 2x a day to keep it from wilting......
Any tips on when to pick it at its peak?
I got a 140 for the small stuff (Hobart, which is owned by Miller) and an ACDC stick machine for the big stuff. Stick cost $300, and it is a very nice model.
I have also heard that 140 is better for light/thin metal than 180 or 210. It has worked very well for me, I need to use it with gas...
