    Speedometer quit working.

Your speedo was operated off of a 4k pulse per mile 5 volt square wave signal from your 97 black box PCM. Some trans controllers can provide a suitable output to run the speedo, but most go and get a vssb off of a 93-95 truck and install that to provide the signal for your speedo as well as the...

Need some help with GearVendors OD unit behind 4L80E

The gear endors unit was originally setup to shift in at 45 and out at 25 in auto mode as they were meant to be used behind 3 speed non OD autos. That is hard set into the box and not adjustable. You must have the trans controller using the speed sensor in the output of the trans so it knows the...

    1000 hp LB7

Once you're at those power levels it's anybodys guess with ANY of them. Cranks can and have broke just sitting idling, or they run long hard lives being beaten mercilessly day in and day out. Once you get into built engine territory, all the rules go out the window.

    Enginetech roller lifters

I've had good luck in the past with Mellings. They used to be the OEM for GM, but I heard about 5 years ago they went overseas, and there quality has dropped way off.

    4L80e compatibility question

91-93 4l80e is slightly different from 94+ electrically, and 95-96 more changes, and then 97+ saw some more. I generally tell people to consider 91-93 to be a different trans from 94+ because of the valve body differences. If the 91 is 6 lug, it will have a 4l60/700r4 in it, if it is 8 lug it...

Upgrade the transmission to an Alison.

No, you do not need a body lift. I know my pics are gone, but I posted in my build thread here, back in 09, how I fit the Allison with a Duramax into my 95 Suburban with no body lift. I REALLY wished people would stop spreading this misinfo about needing a body lift to fit the Allison in a...

    1989 R1500 Suburban w/rear AC Orifice Size

It's only going to cycle when it gets down to the pressure your switch cuts off at. You can find the r134 pressure to temperature chart, find your switches cutoff pressure, and that is the temp of the low side at the pressure switch that it will cutoff at if the system is charged properly. Most...

    Someone help me understand this!!

This setup has been used for DECADES. Problem is he screwed up on the pipe into the exhaust. It needs to be in a straight section of pipe and the suction tube needs to be at a 45 to the pipe. The fitting at the pipe is a 70's era smog check valve used for an AIR injection system. The idea is to...

    1000 hp LB7

1k hp LB7 isn't that uncommon. Rods, pistons, dual CP3's, 100 over injectors, and a decent set of twins and you're their.

    I fixed "P0093" code on 01 Lb7 FINALLY!

Cutting that sensor is putting you in to engine protection mode, so it is not fueling as much, that is why your rail pressure is now holding. Has the ECM been updated? There was many problems with early OS's setting rail pressure and boost codes for no reason. Otherwise you need to have a return...

    93 4L80 TCM

I did some reading 9n this a few years back. To my knowledge there is no .xdf available for the TCM's to be able to program one. You're also up against trying to find a reader and burner as most all the companies that sold them have run out pf stock after the chip shortage, and decided it's not...

    1989 R1500 Suburban w/rear AC Orifice Size

You have to trim the fins off of the GM orifice tube as it sounds like you got the condenser mount style, there is an evap mount style as well that doesn't have the fins on the back. Most use the Ford orifice tubes for the evap mount. 41 degrees sounds about right for a 28 psi cutoff. Most r134...

    2006 Chevy Express 3500 4l80e swap into an 01 Chevy Express 3500

The only difference to my knowledge is the pressure control solenoid changed in 04 due to a supplier change, but both styles interchange with each other.

It wasn't much of anything for me, didn't even get much rain. Most of the damage was flooding from the storm surge along the coast to the north of me.

Quesiton/ Opinions: LB7 Rad & CAC in GMT400 Core Support

Use the 6.5l radiator, it's the same size core as a lb7/lly radiator. FYI, many of those aluminum radiators are well known to suffer corrosion issues after just a few years. Many shops have stopped selling the mishimotos because of it.

    1989 R1500 Suburban w/rear AC Orifice Size

GM used sae threads on R12 vehicles and metric on r134 so you couldn't intermix parts. There was an updated txv for 94/95 suv's to deal with liquid slugging in the rear ac. I don't know of any updated valves for r12 units. The slugging problem only happens when you run the ac with the rear...

    Condenser

Single air gmt400's that were factory r134 are 2 lbs(32 oz) or 2.25 lbs(36 oz) for 4 door models, and dual air models were 4 lbs(64 oz) with the .062 front orifice or 4.25 lbs(68 oz) for ones with the .072 orifice. These are the factory specs, so take them as a guideline as replacement parts...

    Condenser

That is a parallel flow, but not the modern design. Fyi, parallel flow condensers cannot be properly flushed, so if there is ANY question about it's condition, replace it. The apdi/agility 7014544 is an excellent factory replacement condenser and is what I run in my Tahoe that puts out refer...

96 K2500 4L80E no overdrive for only one day??

I'm guessing this is a gas powered truck? If so I would suspect either it detected a heavy misfire, but that should have caused a flashing check engine light, or your TPS was glitching on you. Either way you need a scanner on it when it's acting up to see what it is seeing.

    Condenser

Guess I need to update this post. I did finally get around to getting this condenser swapped in. I ended up using a combo of tubes & brackets off my old condenser, an old evap, and some aluminum ac hose ends to build adapter lines to connect the factory lines to the condenser so that nothing is...
