We just had a Dtech PMD fail on my sons truck {bumper mounted} when it was installed a little less then a year ago.
Not happy about it to say the least!:mad2:
Seems odd that a soleniod would blow a fuse that size.
I'd be looking for a rub through wire or the heater circuit problem that would draw more current.
You are correct. Might see 110/120 on the low side between cycles of the comp.
The reason I say high side is thats where the real pressure is.
Anything above 350 at anytime {running or off) there is a cooling problem on the condenser.
Normally when the system is off both high and low will...
Check your pressures on the a/c system high side before you condemn the compressor. And thats providing the belt and tensioner are all working as they should.
Support the lower A arm as close as possible to the joint with a jack stand.
Then smack the joint down and out with BFH!
I only use the press to put it in and even thats not really necessary.
I just replaced mine 2months ago.
It was defiantly louder but "starting" smoked more and rolled worse at idle.
A month later replace the IP. It was failing after a hot soak.
What a difference. Smokeless starts, smooth idle and tons of power.
My son said why did you wait so long:toetap05:
