    Oil Life Question

I've got no problem changing the oil as I had already bought all of the filters and the oil already. I guess what I want to know is what would cause the DIC to go from 75% oil life to 0% in a days time.

    Oil Life Question

I bought my truck at the beginning of April. It had 52800 miles on it. The oil life in the DIC said 91% remain when I bought it. It has gone down incrementally since, but yesterday I was driving around and it said change oil soon and showed an oil life of 0%. The last I remember, it was at...

    Check your balls!

This is an eye opener and brings up that we should all check our balls (and trailer) every time we hook up and at every stop. It's just a good idea. If your married (or g/f), you might be able to get them to check your balls too.

    Bobcat Drivers, Check This Out!!!

Awhile back, I found this video of an excavator unloading off of the back of a truck. Takes a pretty good operator. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE02TxLlRQU&feature=related

    Camping Gear

I do as much camping as I like, but for my work, we get stuck out in the boonies quite a bit and I have to agree on a Leatherman. I use it for just about everything. Another item I use is a Jet Boil. It's a small self cooking unit. It's not really for a group of people, but it'll do single...

    Rotella??

I use a can of roller chain lube on by bicycle chain. I wouldn't use Rotella on my bicycle chain either. I would, and do use it in all of my heavy equipment and my ride. I'll prolly go sysnthetic, but millions of truckers can't be wrong. They wouldn't be in business if it was crap.

    What yall think about these?

x2 I don't know if I like 'em. I love LED's and lots of lights, but they look a little tacky. I've put LED's on heavy equipment, and Cat is proud of ALL of their lights, not too mention parts in general.

    Truck is dead

Hell, went 4 years on my '03 Ranger, replaced the battery then a year later, the truck ended up sitting alot in favor of the commuter Jetta. Then I had a hell of a time keeping it charged up. Finally got a good charge on it and now it's staying up, even though I don't drive it very much...

    Packing Lists

A little more basic, but prolly just as important. If you plan on wheeling, especially somewhere remote, tell someone where your going and about how long you plan on being out. Good intentions or not, we are not Superman. Just a good idea.

    Show your quad.

Not quite the same, but it has four wheels and you can't run it on the street. It does corner like it's on rails. Oh, wait...

    Farming Thread:

When I worked for a local Co-op, I ran a tender truck for a season and actually enjoyed it. I also miss talking to all of the guys (and gals) when they brought there grain in at the elevator. I kinda got spoiled working at a newer elevator, but realized you can screw up quick when you...

    4.0

I've got a Ford 4.0 in my '03 Ranger and I had one in my '95 Explorer. I put 180k on the Explorer and have 134k on my Ranger and have never had any issues with either at all. Neither leaks or burns any oil. I change the oil about every 3k miles and just use regular dino with no problems. I...

    Do you maintain your ride?

On my Ranger, I've done all oil changes and tranny fluid changes since 24,000 miles. I've also done brakes, and other wear items, as well as replacing a rear axle oil seal and bearings a few years ago. I just got my 2500, so I haven't done anything major yet, but plan on doing all the...

    FNG

Well, I was pretty new to the "other" site when it kinda went downhill, so I'll be a newby here too. I just want the great FYI help from the old heads on my new truck, with maybe some help on my other trucks. Now, if I can only find as good of a site for my V-Dub, I'll be set!
