After every oil change....
It's a piece of my oil change ritual to engage 4hi and 4lo for a few hundred feet in a nearby field.
Having the truck 7 years now, I can count the number of times on 1 hand I've turned it on because I actually was stuck/spinning tires, or as a precautionary measure...
Yup, yall are confirming what I 've known to be true. It became a factory option for GMC and Chevy's in 98 (probably Caddy for Escalade too). I'm pretty sure this is when they offered the heated mirrors too. I'm actually going to be pulling front captains chairs from a 99 GMC this week with...
Any more progress on this fellas? Some of these parts have become available to me which has me doing the research... You guys know your shit! I'm impressed with the knowledge and level of detail you have gone into.
Big T, major kudos on taking incremental steps to confirm/correct compatibility...
Now that this technology has been out for some time and used by some (or most) of us, I think it'd be a great idea to share our experiences on where they may benefit, and where they should never go.
I'll start off with a POOR experience in MOTOR MOUNTS for my 6.5, not only was it a curve ball...
Most all of the "Optima VS Die Hard" search results are heavily one sided.
Just called my local Sears, they have multiple on shelf manufacture date August 14.
DIE HARD IT IS!
Seeing that duralast has a platinum AGM model out now.

I've put together that "Made in USA" is a defining factor in these AGMs, these duralast's claim they are.
So, it was not the relay, or not only the relay at least., having to buy a new starter. I have created good relations with autozone staff, and will have no problem returning what I got yesterday with the sh¡t storm that followed. Those die hard platinums looked real legit, higher CCA, and...
Returning/exchanging them will result in non age matching. The only other store in vicinity that has two 34/78's on their shelf are manufacture dates 2/14 and 4/14.
These two have been on 1.5amp trickle for over 8 hours now. I'm leaving house now to go see what results are.
So leaving house today, was a noticeable struggle to start, but not enough to keep me from leaving house. :D
Over the course of the day, each start got harder and harder. Finally, on what was my drive home, it allllmost didn't turn over. Went home, unloaded merch, and headed to AutoZone to...
I have room for one more gauge in my cluster assembly, and it's between 2 gauges I don't really need.
What I am trying to figure out is, which of these 2 is "less useless" lol
between cylinder head temp (140-340*F) or exhaust pressure (0-60 or 0-100psi)
I'm not real sure of any reason...
Haha, I know, I know. I'm aiming high here, these are fairly steep requirements.
Bottom line is, all other exhaust characteristics would come 2nd to having quiet idle.
Looking into exhaust systems, and most retailers are not very descriptive on VOLUME output.
Want something whisper quiet at idle, up to 1k RPM if possible. After that, no audible demands other than LOUD SPOOL :D
Am I asking the impossible?
Anyone able to achieve this or something close...
