His biggest risk is the differential pumpkin moving to the right side, but that won’t happen by mount design.

Looks like the same procedure. Filter is really a fine mesh screen which can be cleaned and re-used. I generally change them. Clean the pan and magnets in the pan. Install new gasket on pan, holding it in place with the mounting bolts. Use the lower cooler line to pump out two quarts of ATF...

Did a full transmission fluid change and filter on the 2014 4Runner at 423.4K miles (60K on the transmission). Got the fluid level set properly using the infrared temp gun on the fluid draining from the level setting plug. Needs to be between 103F and 113F; shot it at 110.8F.

OK here’s what AI had to say on this: https://www.google.com/search?q=1995+4L80e+can+it+be+used+in+a+1994%3F&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari Based on that, I’ll just have the 94 4L80e rebuilt for the 94 and the 99 rebuilt for the 99, in that order.

That current 99 came out of a 95 and had 12K miles on it. Works perfectly in the 99 after modifying the hoses and should work just fine in the 94.

Update: Wayne texted me saying the shift shaft to the transfer case binds, preventing it from shifting to 4 Lo. He could either tear apart the case to assess the shift shaft, or buy a new NVG-246 transfer case. Transfer case was a new reman unit purchased and installed Spring of 2022 with...
