How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Which u-joints did you use when you replaced them?

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I saw that in your video. it did look like the pinion seal area was kinda wet and from the video it did look like there was a bit of rotational play with the pinion gear meshing with the ring gear. that doesn't mean it's bad though. Just means it's been broken in. if the squeak comes...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Honestly it did sound like a u-joint squeak. the only way to tell other than it returning and you pinpointing it at that time is to pull the driveshaft and feel and look at the joint. I wouldn't worry about it until it comes back. could have easily been brake dust in the drum which is...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

put the rear up on stands and the wheels off the ground. rotate the wheel by hand and see if you can pinpoint the squeak.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

The only way to do that is to take oil samples and have them analyzed over time. I would stick to the 3k mile oil changes especially if you do a lot of in-town stop n go traffic.

    Another 6.5

That hole in the overhead console has room for two gauges. on my 93, I took a piece of old pallet wood and whittled it down to fit and cut out the hole for my boost gauge.

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

with the power master, there is room if you wanted to beef up the support bracket! I used a piece of angle iron on mine (though my block it busted at the outer bolt hole) I used a long piece that extended down to just above the pan and it rests against the block at the pan, bolted to the top...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

That popping sound is most likely the spring coil in the center of the regulator. attack that with the graphite dry spray. if it's not the spring rubbing it's self then one of the rollers in a track is skipping rather than rolling. might be a flat spot on the roller. If you can't locate the...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

iirc your gonna need a pair of vice grips or channel lock pliers to press the rollers on the nubs of the regulator too I see you got the bolt on type. I don't remember if the original ones are spot welded on to the regulator. if you have to grind off the old studs, verify the height...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

iirc the main issue with plumbing in a mechanical gauge was the ops port on the block is a funky metric or BSP straight thread with a sealing washer they used.

    My 2005 Yukon XL

Keep in mind this gauge is calculated by the ECM, not the actual oil pressure! I have seen so many blown engines because it was too late when that gauge bottomed out and the knocking started. I would tee into where that sensor goes and run you a mechanical gauge to always have a real reading...
