    SnowWay MEGA V

A frind of mine has a Snow Way V-plow on his CCSB LLY and he has had 0 issues with it for the last 3yrs that he has owned it. He is a logger and plows all of his headers with it along with several driveways to boot. We all know how "smooth" logging headers are, might better plow a field of stone.

    Ford?

Thanks guys, this is what i was looking for. I spoke with this fella last night and he said he found a tire which i beleive he said was the Bridgestone Dueler in 18" and studded. Price for the tires with studs was $278 each without tax. I told him he might better buy aftermarket wheels "dealer...

    My first one

Looks original to me, nice job. I like the look of the front with no radiator, never seen that before. Makes the car look incomplete and this must draw some attention.

    Ford?

Sorry about the brain fart:mad2:. I wasnt sure to post in suspension/wheels being a Ford or put it in the Ford section for powertrain so i gave up and put it in off-topic. Thanks for the move and info. We havent looked to see how much caliper clearance there is yet. We are hoping someone would...

    Ford?

A buddy of mine has an 08 F-250 RCLB with the gas guzzling V-10, 9.5' stainless fisher v-plow and 6.5' stainless Salty Dogg in bed sander. He is having traction issues with this combo and i am sure it is the stock rubber. The truck only has 4k on it so it isnt a lack of tread. Problem is Ford as...

    South Florida to New York

Hey Nick, i know its off topic for this thread but did you know the idea of snowmaking was discovered in Florida many years ago? The farmers used to go into the citris fields on the morning of a heavy frost and spray a mist of water on the fruit to wash off the frost. They found the water would...

No $$$ is my problem. I have a friend who has i beleive a 64 ChevyII SS with 283 4spd. The car had no rust when he parked it about 12yrs ago. Now after sitting outside and not being moved the car has settled into the ground up to the rockers. I am a Ford car man but this is still sad. I...

messed up 4-speed - need help

):h, a buddy of mine use to have a 37 Ford coupe that had a 305 with a 3spd in it. Some kid had started building the car as a low buck build. My buddy stuffed a mild 350 in it and started breaking the 3spd trannys in half. After a couple of those he started dumping in Saginaw 4spd's. After...

    Coolant

Well i took the pile to the stealer today. It took them over an hour to diag the leak. They did a pressure test and found no pressure drop, no leaks and no signs of a leak "roads were wet this morning and probably washed off any coolant residue" I talk directly to the tech and he stated that he...

    Coolant

Well i went out to the driveway this morning and for the first time the truck puked coolant all over the ground on the drivers side front under the frame. I still cant see anything visually but the frame is clean of salt and i can see the lower corner of the radiator is all festered up. I dont...

Which Recovery Straps Should I look into?

I carry a 30'er, 4" wide and rated for 40k when i off-road. I broke the first 40k strap i had but i was really yanking hard with it too. I had bruises on my chest from the seat belt i was yanking so hard but i did get the guy out eventually. This fella's Chevy was buried in about 4' of mud and...

    Coolant

71k on it now. I pressure tested it with no sign of pressure loss. I only let it sit for about 15 minutes and no drop. I topped off the coolant level and now it is fine again, no loss and no smell. Go figure:rolleyes5:. I will mention it to the dealer when it goes in for service which will be...

    Coolant

I have been kind of worried about it being a gasket too since i cant see any visual leaks. IMO its going through too much coolant just to be seeping/evaporating. I wont be pressure testing it too long to prevent any hydroloc inside the engine. I just want to verify its not an external leak. The...

    Coolant

Well the ole girl be leaking its coolant somewhere. No visual leaks yet and it seems to be going through about 6-8oz every week or so. I can smell it on the passeneger side of the truck but still cant see anything. I will be doing a coolant pressure test to see if i can find it before it goes to...

    New rubber

I have no pics but here is a link with a pic and info www.tiresbyweb.com/p-7026-cooper-discoverer-ms.aspx . They are very quiet on the road and handle very well too. They have alot of siping and there is a ridge design inside the valleys of the tread too. This must add to the traction ability of...

    New rubber

I finally broke down and bought tires for the winter. I bought the Cooper Discovery M/S this time, alot of siping and they have a good reputation in these parts. I ran the Hankook Dynopro M/T's last year and good luck with them for traction but no lifespan at all. I squeezed 23k out of them but...

Can you plow snow with a 5-speed?

I have done both but prefer the auto. Less movement for the legs and arms. I used to plow up to 42 private driveways and even running an auto my legs would ache something fierce, especially after a big storm and driving the truck for 36-48 hours.

    Help with a Ford 361

Yup, the 330-428 were all the same. There were some differences in heads/intakes for the industrial engines but for the most part they were the same. Alot of 1/2 ton - 1 ton trucks actually ran 359's/361's or 389's/391's but they were always called 360's or 390's. Wouldnt hurt to check the teeth...
