    1996 K2500 “Krovvy”

I know this is a somewhat old thread and the truck is no longer in your possession @n8in8or but I wanted to ask about the stub axle as I've learned some new information and am curious if it affected the truck at all. So for the stub axle that I purchased and the part number that you used, that...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

Since this was an early 90s engine, the bellhousing to engine studs were SAE. I couldn't find the exact GM part number for the metric studs, but found something close that needed to be shortened only a little bit. GM Part # 11546890 Needed to remove only ~ 1/4" to match the old studs I...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

As I'm sure many a 6.5 owner knows, a benefit of a smoky leaky engine means an oiled and preserved frame. At first I was just going to pressure wash the frame/ engine bay from the cab forward and undercoat with Fluid Film. Seeing how nice the frame was though and not being entirely too jazzed...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

I've only seen one video where the GMT800 lower was used in this conversion, and there were no clearance issues with the shock/ no modifications needed to the 800 LCA shock mount. However on this truck the shock rubs against the edge of the bump stop mount on the frame. The front end has been...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

2023 saw some progress, GMT800 front brake upgrade and a custom front crossover for the Banks sidewinder manifold. I had purchased the manifold in 2020 as something of a panic buy when covid hit, and was glad I did as it's no longer available and a better configuration than stock. I did a...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

Not much happened in 2022 aside from the engine being shipped out. I was part of a wild project building two new silos into homes with an hour commute so that ate up most of my time. Additionally my mini excavator was broken down for almost half the year and that repair sucked up whatever...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

I had been keeping my eye out for an engine as I knew any stock truck would be a time bomb and I need the truck to be reliable for work. For once I would have good luck as I found an optimizer takeout ~5 hours away in Cleveland. The original owner of the takeout had installed new optimizer heads...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

Starting a build thread as this project is hopefully nearing completion, it's been a project since acquiring the truck in 2021. Have some specific questions including modifying/ upgrading the A/C system to R134 and adding a compressor with a pressure switch and adding a cluster with a tach...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

I'm pretty sure all the main bolts are TTY, I wouldn't reuse the old hardware. Glad the valves are cooperating for ya!

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

I have at least one set, maybe two sets of lifters here if you want them. One set with only a few thousand miles on them, the other were stock in my p400 and were removed around 35k miles for the upgraded slow bleed lifters. I also have a timing cover with the CPS hole and a like new CPS if you need

@Twisted Steel Performance is there an average measurement/ length you're finding in fitting the custom pushrods vs stock? Curious as to how large the difference is. How did you discover that the pushrod length could be increased to begin with?

    Timekeeper explosion in P400

I hadn't thought about using the turbo oil feed port for supplying the gears, seems way easier than teeing off the oil cooler line. @Twisted Steel Performance looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Is the side of the timing cover thicker material? Or is welding the best option for...

    Timekeeper explosion in P400

This thread has got me curious about whether oil starvation is a contributing factor to the gearset failure and if there's a relatively simple way to mitigate it some. The front timing chain/ gears get oil that has passed through the camshaft bearings from the rear to the front of the engine...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

I don't know if they make it for coolant systems but there's UV dye for A/C systems to find a leak, if there's a water soluble UV dye that could be a cheap and helpful way to pinpoint exactly where the leak is

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

$78 for full coverage is cheap If you have a friend in NY but who lives out of the city see if you can use their address. I have a friend in the city who uses my address as his mailing address. I think there's states like Montana and one of the Dakotas where you can register a vehicle by just...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

With regards to inspection here in NY you don't need to worry about oil leaks. It's a safety inspection so they look at tie rods, pitman arm, wheel bearings tail lights etc. They remove one front wheel to see if you have decent rotors and meat on the pads. With no emissions to worry about and...

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Stoney and I are about 300 miles north of NYC in the Southern Tier/ Finger Lakes region. I have a mechanic neighbor with some contacts in the NYC area, can see if he has any recommendations. Or the better option is get the heck outta NYC and come out to the country 🙃

I purchased the spring wastegate for my 35/40, but it doesn't fit/ clear in my truck using the 6.2 sidewinder manifold https://www.dieselsite.com/turbomasterdodge12v59.aspx If you're interested in it I'd part with it, just taking up room in my shpo

Ds4 fitting for fuel pressure gauge

The DS4 inlet fitting isn't -AN, it's a 7/16 ORB fitting if memory serves. It screws into another larger fitting on the pump that I think houses the inlet screen. So you'd need the 7/16 ORB on one end and -AN on the other if that's the fuel line you're using
