How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Your screenshots are too small for us to read! even on a PC I can't zoom in to read.

do the opposite to test the CPS. unplug the optic sensor and try to start it. it should start and run but will take a little more crank time. should run smoothly as well. having one or the other disconnected will put the engine in limp mode and set a code for what's discoed.

They didn't for the 6.2 your correct. the HV pump is for the oil squirters.

Testing the optic is simple. unplug the CPS and try to start it. it will take longer to crank but should start up and run. for testing the stepper motor, you can rotate the stepper arm on the side of the pump all the way one direction or the other and then key on. it should move iirc...

    1993 K3500 1 Ton Dump Truck Build

compared to my 93, that is not much blow by! it also sound good for a blown head gasket. Rig looks good too.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

    it's a healthy one. I wouldn't worry about it.

How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

if it runs smooth and there are no issues I would leave the timing adjustment alone. messing with that could lead to more issues. for blow by, it doesn't need to push the cap off, just have some. if you see smoke coming out of the fill tube. with the tubing that comes from the CDR...

    My son's 1968 Chevy

I found another set that shows to work on stamped steel rockers. also shows a couple of comments about crimped type nuts tearing up threads where these helped. my question is mainly with the starting section of threads already buggered up taking a chance of the crimp lock nut trying to...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

would a high volume pump be any benefit for this or is that overkill / might lead to oil pan clearance issues?

Now that the oil leaks are fixed, how often do you have to add oil? is there any blow by? if might be a slight amount of oil from valve seals, blow by or simply condensation in the exhaust.

I have always had good luck when I set the base timing to 3*. it could be a finicky PCM too. being a new build with tight tolerances there is really finite movements of the IP to get it there. if you have another truck or setup where you don't have to swap IP's out and just plug in that...

Here is one set of ARP rocker nuts that I am looking at with a photo that shows how they work with stamped steel rockers.

    My son's 1968 Chevy

Hey guys. I got the head back today. so the assembly process might be starting this weekend. But I need some advice. one of the rocker studs that wasn't replaced (they only replaced 7 studs that were bad) has some buggered threads at the end. I talked to the machinist about it and he...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

Another question I have is on the oil pump. are they worthy to put a new kit in them? or just get the new one? when I was cranking it checking for compression, I was seeing the gauge shoot up to just above 60psi and then drop back to 60 like it was hitting it's relief. I haven't looked at...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

I have been going through the shopping cart on RA to consolidate on shipping cost since everything I have in the cart is showing to be coming from two different warehouse locations. that is what's driving up the shipping cost. There isn't many choices on types of head gaskets thought, I was...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

Interesting that I have been able to find a lot of the gaskets I need on the jungle site and are cheaper than what RA shows. I ordered the plasti-gauge and a Fel-Pro rear main seal last night. that way I can start on the block this weekend.

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

Looking at my shopping list again... what's better brass or steel freeze plugs? I pulled out the three on each side of the block to clean it out. I didn't touch the one in the back since it covers the cam, I don't think coolant runs behind that one and I didn't see any others on the...

Possible Engine Build for my 93 Truck

That was or is the plan. to run it! I think it will be fine for what it is. since I'm not having any machine work done to the block. I really appreciate the offers though! maybe in the future I will need it done though.
