    My 2005 Yukon XL

Been a busy last day, still checking things over.... Belts and pulleys check out ok. I did have some pooling of oil in the intake. I've been getting a puff of white smoke on starts lately whoch I guess is tell tale sight of drivers valve cover/PCV issues. Also found some bad cracks in the PCV...

HOLY@%@&$*$. This junkyard steering gear is unreal compared to the reman Lares and predecessing Cardone POS. I couldnt be happier, we'll maybe I could. I wish I did this 3 years ago.

    My 2005 Yukon XL

I think I got the SWR issue figured out. For some reason the kit i bought (from Amazon) didn't identify or come with the upper nylon spacer. So essentially the antenna was grounding out. Luckily I had an ancient one kicking around form the high school/college days: Got the passenger upper...

Finally got the CB radio coax crimped and soldered. I've got a issue somewhere, SWR is not happy. Need to test the antenna and coax first for proper grounding.

I remember you having issues with some TTX parts. What have you been using for replacement stuff now?

    My 2005 Yukon XL

Been hearing a bit of a clunk on the Yukon over the last couple days. Finally did some inspections and I have a loose ball-joint on the upper passenger side. Racking my brain, I've been there before, actually on March 30th, 2023 (post #329). Unfortunately I was in a bind, the night before...

    2013 Escalade ESV w/ SLP TVS2300

Yeah, I wont need to tackle that portion. My plan is basically cut the width of the wheel well straight up maybe 6 to 8-inches. I also plan to take the inner and outer together. So I bet thats will be the most difficult part, in the wheel well.

    2013 Escalade ESV w/ SLP TVS2300

I actually have access to one on a drill, but from my experience they dont like 90 degree bends and I would struggle with cutting the inner fender out too. Unfortunately no grinders allowed. Ive got a DeWalt cordless, need to get some hot blades for it.

    2013 Escalade ESV w/ SLP TVS2300

Nate, I assume you went with a battery operated sawzall to do this? Reason I am asking is that I have a 5-inch by 3-inch section of rot on my passenger rear wheel arch (basically top center). I see aftermarket panels for $80, but contemplating on JY hacking a panel like you did (much smaller...

Ordered a Wolff Engineering steering column bearing today. I've got real high hopes for this to get rid if the clunks. Stupid GM plastic bearing..... https://www.wolffeng.com/shop/p/leaf-no-5-z68el-plnpb-phgh3

    Weak Power Steering Issues

Got the old Napa/Cardone reman apart. There is a shim on the bypass so from what I've watched on YouTube means this is a lower PSI unit.

    Weak Power Steering Issues

Grabbed the old Napa/Cardone unit. Found the QA/QC paperwork for the current Edelman in the vehicle. My understanding is it tested to nearly 1.45K PSI. No point in trying to mess with PSI on it, that's really the most we should ever need. I still have yet to create the hard steering symptoms...

    Weak Power Steering Issues

I spent some time last night trying to re-create the hard steering issue on concrete in the shop and couldn't! No matter if i was on the brakes or not. I think some type of correlation discovery would help solve this better. Going forward I will try to be more cognizant on when it happens and...

    Weak Power Steering Issues

I agree. I wished I grabbed the PS pump from the Yukon that I got the clean gearbox from. Unfortunately, they already scrapped it per my last walk. I also need to do some RockAuto part number cross referencing to see if regular vacuum boost trucks have the same pump as a hydroboost truck. I do...

    Weak Power Steering Issues

I am trying to get to the bottom of an on-going issue I've had for several years with my 05 Yukon XL. It is mostly pertaining to power steering effort while the vehicle is moving very slow or stationary. Specifically navigating parking spaces, parallel parking, at idle, etc. I have very little...

    My 2005 Yukon XL

Confirmed. I actually spent some time yesterday counting rotations lock-to-lock as I struggled a bit to get the old pitman arm off. Its about 3.25 rotations total. I split the difference and marked it on the case and input shaft. I "should" be in the ballpark. Typically when I disconnect the...
