I'm guessing it's the 94-95 TCM's that are getting hard to come by. They were only used in a limited run for 3500 cutaway vans with a DB2 and Hummers. So very low production numbers of them. I know I just checked RA and they show GM & aftermarket for the OBD1 trucks.

If it has the np246 autotrak case, then no, the front driveshaft will take 50-80 foot lbs of break away torque to slip. If it is a np261 or np263 then the front end should unlock. Now 03+ np246 will semi free spin the front shaft.

Which boss are you talking about that needs plugged? I had my tech2 out earlier, to get into the autotrac tcase, select your vehicle, go under diagnostics, powertrain, and there will be 3 options, engine, trans, or atc, select atc as that is the transfer case.

That is a late 99 build 4l80e, you can tell by it having the mounting tab at the 12 o clock position. Never seen a 6.5l with the top mounting tab before.

89 should be a 28 spline 10 bolt rear axle, don't think they had the f44 rpo available in 89 for 1500's to have a 9.5" 14 bolt. You could get a C1500 from GM with the 6.5l and a 30 spline 10 bolt for a few years. As to the front, 6 lig is 8.25", 8 lug is 9.25".
