I too have an ss diesel item. It is stainless, but a low grade stainless. Still, IMHO, its better than no stainless.

I'm thinking an on the fly, six position, changeable tune for the obd II crowd could lead to early retirement for the developer. That and be the most popular kid on the block. Hint hint.

OK, do the two turbos in a compound set-up neccessarily have to be physically different in size? Before you laugh, the compounds on my C-13 are very close in physical size. Does or would that make one or the other work too hard or not hard enough? I know its not a 6.5 engine, but its still a...

I would think the easiest way to swap to a diesel would be a mechanical one. You would only need to switch the throttle peddle to a cable one. If you wanted to stay electronic, I suppose it could be done, but (just guessing - no first hand knowledge) it would be a real pain in the butt.

I get the whole charging the same thing, but needing the program on a mechanical engine? Sorry, but I just had to chuckle on that one.

Jim, The only other place I've heard cryogenic and diesel in the same sentence, is over at great lakes diesel (.com) in New York. They are doing this kinda stuff with 15/16 liter caterpilar engines. According to their site, the do a lot of engines for the trucks that run in 'el rodeo' up by you...

I don't know how extensive they get, but they do give the TBN iirc (total base number?) I think different ppm of iron, copper etc... Speedco is kinda like jiffy lube for semi's. I just can't justify $350 for a 9 gal oil change, when I can buy the oil and filters for $160 and do it myself.

Look for truck stops with Speedco either on the lot or nearby. My last change looked a.little funky, so ill see what needs to be done (sample size, etc...)
