I've changed the one on my 1 ton twice, the first time I was turning and braking, I thought it was going into the ditch. the second time it hit some bad bumps at 60 mph, scared the heck out of me.

Are the rotors good? Would it have a steering damper like our Chevy/GMC trucks have?

The light likely just needs a bulb. I would check all the fuses, esp. the FSOS in the engine bay fuse box. My 95 would lose contact and it would shut down like the ign. was turned off.

I did that with the original cooler, the hyd. lines had compression fittings that went on the oil cooler lines which I cut the ends off. There is a reference to it in the Reference Library. I can't bring anything up there anymore...
