I think it may have something to do with studs you are only moving the NUT, the threads of the stud are NOT twisting to torque. With TTY or any bolt, the head, and EVERY thread is moving always, causing much less torque???? Or differently spaced torque pressures???

Perhaps you could do boss damage using a bolt that doesn't stretch?
