yeah i was thinking about throwing a pressure gauge on, and a higher micron before the 6 would be a good idea. Do you heat your oil before filtering? also what pump do you use?
Turbonator I remember you talking about some of the mods you do to the pumps you use, can you share? :)
I still sometimes wonder why people need more fuel then the 4911 puts out because I have always ran a 6.2 pump turned up and have always had more fuel then I needed along with way more...
Yeah someone had recommended a water filter to me but I cheeped out. I think I have $65 into what I have now. Maybe with a better pump I'll be able to flow more, with the gas inline filter off it is better but not outstanding although oil temp did drop to about 60 degrees. Maybe someone has...
Maybe Ill try to go without the gas filter and see what it does, I already used a screen filter not a very fine one though, maybe Ill buy a "tank sock" the part stores should have one.. I hope!
I could use the 2 micron on the truck, Id have to ditch the small 5 micron and find room for the 2 micron but that's okay. I wouldn't mind heating the oil to 180 F but it might be hard to do in the shop unless I coil some brake line and put a torch under it but that seems like a lot of messing...
So I set up my filter unit, started off with a inline filter fairly large probably about 30 micron for a gas car then a 6.5 lift pump pulls it through there from the bucket to a 6 micron spin on set up off a mack truck and then through a 2 micron. Fuel line hoses are 3/8 and I have a 3/4 oil and...
yeah I was gonna go with the bosch unless you guys think it doesn't really make a difference
Bosh: 129.99 free shipping
Knock offs: 76 with free shipping
I thought they had a marine tip just for fixable fuel choices and I thought they used the long ones until they came out with the turbo engine due to clearance issues. I was just thinking about using the tips in them to save some money but I'll probably have to find some real bosch marine ones...
I forget do the 6.2 marine nozzles fit the 6.5 body? and are the 6.2 marine nozzles the same as the 6.5 Bosch marines?
The 6.2 nozzles are out of a 1 ton military truck 85-87 N/A of course
yeah I don't think the pattern being tighter will hurt anything because the pressure hits the precup which swirls the fuel, so the more pressure the more movement of the fuel or better atomization. I would love to have more low end, with the diamond cups, porting and correct adjustment of the...
Cumminsfever I think its time for a video so we can hear this injector/cummins noise lol. Im set on changing my PP (pop pressure) now but now that Buddy chimed in I can't decide what psi to go to, I was thinking 3,000 but maybe I'll just do 2,500.
I wish I woulda adjusted my injectors when the heads were out!! I personally don't think your hot start issue is due to the high pop pressure. Next time you go to start it hot pour some cold water over the pump and see if it helps.
I'll have make myself a custom wrench to remove the injectors...
will do, I know it was off of a 1977 mack inline with an inline 6
Ill post the other number on the turbo tag, this is the one i had posted first: serial No. SFR0405 R
If you mean the build plate on the engine thats about an hour away, should have written the specs down.
Ha no compounds yet I just picked them up cheap and hope to resell. Yeah i knew it was a Garrett Im just having trouble finding another one like it online to find a value for it. The Garrett is non waste gated
The CAT turbo is internal waste gate and needs rebuilt, here are some pictures
