yes he said it had an auto trans. Im sure the engine has high miles, do you think it would be better to trade for it or sell the lift and go buy another engine. I figured i cant really find a 6bt cummins for under 500 even in non working condition

I will probally end up getting a donor dodge truck that has at least the trans in it, it would probally be easyer to get a doner truck,. From the pics of the dodge bell housing it looks like it would fit to my trans its only 4 bolts and it looks the same

The only thing i am really conserned about is the trans will mine bolt right to the 12v if i just get a dodge input shaft

i am very mechanicly inclined all i do is work on cars and trucks, im not very good at fabing up stuff but i guess i will have to try, i will post another thread when i start thanks for all the help.

I was thinking of keeping the dodge mounts on the engine then make some sort of bracket to connect it to the frame, what would happen if you did solid motor mounts , it would shake like no other.

But would the chevy engine mounts work the way they are if not whats different

Yes i have the tools and will be doing this myself. My plan is to remove the 6.5l turbo diesel and put a 5.9l turbo cummins in it. I wont be doing a redneck job, i want it to basicly look as factory as possible. I want to keep my nv4500 trans.

Whats a bread truck adaptor, i could do a 6 bt or a 4 bt how much more power and torque does the 4bt have compared to the 6.5l turbo diesel. Would it be able to pull alot, is their a big difference between the 6 bt and the 4 bt
