i think the only diff between 7 and 9 round is that there are 2 extra pins... my old truck come with a 7 round set-up, and its pretty much the same exact thing, avec two extra pins. I like it a lot.
the wire colors are grey... and the other lt grn i think?? i have them unconnected for now... but i might make them more 12 V connections if necessary.
I'm not a huge fan of the globally standard 7-way electrical connections for trailers... with the salt and slush up here i find the truck end corrodes pretty easily, and its easy to wiggle into bad connections...
so I bought these 9-way deals both trailer and car and, and I have to say, I...
You'll bee to drill no matter what I think... I only tested mine with it... it worked AWESOME!! I havn't seen Turbine Doc comment on this thread, but I was talking on the phone with him last week and he verified that it outperforms the Heath Unit hands down with his truck (he has a fuel...
I'm not sure what shipping would be like to Canada... it was free shipping and it was via eBay... so again, not sure. It's funny, you're right about the mystery charge, I can see New Brunswick from my house, but the stuff I get from the U.S. is HUGLY cheaper than my buds across the border...
The front clip is off... but the bumper is not, and it doesnt want to come off... PO hit a car and bent it in just a hair, and jammed the bumper all up... i can't remove the core support without the bumper off i dont think... the hood is off
To finish up my part out I want to yank the engine out of my truck... tranny as well. Is it easier to pull as one unit? pull engine only then tranny? the truck is outside, and I have an engine hoist, but I've never pulled an engine before, so I'm not sure of how to go about this. I have the...
Ok I just checked to make sure... and like I thought, JiFaire, you are comparing apples to oranges. You compared the SSDS Stainless system to Heaths Aluminized Steel system... and SSDS is only 4 bucks more, for STAINLESS. I paid 300 SHIPPED for my MKO Power exhaust (3 inch DP, 4 inch...
I think the reason they are recommended for the manual trannys more is due to the fact that unless the TC is locked, an auto tranny is a fluid coupling, and thus absorbs some of the vibrations from rear dif etc. in a manual tranny those are shared with the engine. It may not really matter, but...
And BTW, if you want to compete with the newer diesels you have to do some serious mods to deal with the extra power these trucks were NOT designed to have.
The Maine refurbishing center is close to my house... I've heard that the policy for a damaged engine no matter what is to just replace it... then they auction off like 250 long blocks for like 2 grand... yea... kinda crazy
