What is the best source for replacement doors? I need 6 for my suburban and I'm not sure if it's better to go to the junk yard or buy replacement shells, Thanks.

Reminds me of an English sportscar enthusiast who wanted an aluminum block for his 6 cylinder sportscar so badly he cast one in his basement because no one else thought there was a market for it. Turns out it was a very good block and he ended up doing quite well with his venture. I...
When I had my timing set to -1.94 way back when the tech doing the job commented on how tight the timing was. I guess there's some movement with the timing chains, even when new.
For me it came down to how accurately you want to drive the IP.
I had a set for my 94 6.5TD and I can tell you it made a big difference in the way the engine ran. And, I changed them out when the enging had about 50,000 or so miles so there shouldn't have been that much of a stretch factor that the gears were correcting.
However, I did change the timing...
Or, go with a equal length runner manifold similar to the Ford design. Who knows what the runner length should be or how it would work with an IDI diesel, but if you are going to do it might as well go large. I wonder if you could tune the runner length to work with the ATT, maybe provide a...
Just like everywhere else, itt has been my experience that you have to know the right people in China for things to go smoothly.
I'd like to see a cast upper manifold that looks factory and has a smooth transition from the ATT to the lower intake manifold. It should look good on its own or...
The discussion between a larger single alternator and two smaller alternators is interesting. Being a systems guy I like the redundancy of dual alternators, but that may not apply here. And, the fact that it was used by GM in emergency vehicle applications makes it interesting.
The one issue...
I came across this and thought I'd pass it along:
Counterfeit Processor
In defense of Newegg, I've used them for a very long time. The one questionable part I got from them was a 939 socket AMD processor that was marked engineering sample in the bios. It ran fine for many years, but it...
I'm not sure.
I thought I'd throw some pictures up so people could see what everyone was talking about. From the pictures, they look pretty close. We won't know for sure until someone mocks up a set and checks the dimensions.
BTW, those pictures were from NAPA online.
From the listing:
Now let me explain to you why it says 1500 on the door and why it has a 2500 chasis. The fire chief oredered the truck as a LS to get the options and the Itdual airbags. Air bags are only offered on a 1500 series. Being it is a diesel, it has 3/4 ton 8 lug suspension and 14...
Nice work. I like the idea of a smooth transition from the filter element to the turbo intake. The current stock setup has too many crevaces and bends IMO for good flow.
Is that the bottom half of a high flow filter housing? If so, it looks like one could use the filter element and housing...
