I would like to change the A/R and I am going to, as soon as it warms up. The high boost is nice though for me because when I am driving for about 6 hours to my cabin in WI and I want to pass someone, I am so far up into the boost pressure that when I accelerate, the truck speeds up...
Just turned 60k on the motor, over 205K on the truck.
Boost is still peaking at 26 psi and maintain 15 psi while driving 65 MPH.
I have stock head gaskets from Fel-Pro, with TTY bolts, no studs and I have had no problems. One day, I hit 31 psi of boost up a hill with an enclosed car trailer...
That is not that hard of a formula. It takes into consideration the resitance or work required to compress the gas in the area of the cylinder from the intial volume to the final volume (given the compression ratio 21.5:1 or in my case, 18:1) and then the stroke of the crank which is the...
But running an intercooler also does one major thing: cools hot air in order to have a higher density of air molecules so that there is more energy to accompany the fuel.
Yes, with the limited fuel supply though, we do not necessarily have to worry about having the densest air supply but it...
Hmm, that is not a bad idea. Maybe there should be a poll set up so that we can get an estimate of the people that would be able to attend. I myself am curious as to what my truck can put down at the rear wheels and I would like to see what others have been working on with their rigs.
OK, this has been up for debate on the past thread and I am going to bring it up on here: Is there an interest for a Mid-West 6.5 or diesel truck in general get-together to have a day or two on the weekend to maybe dyno an meet up? I have been kind of idle on this new site and non existence on...
No, there are other gells out there. I have 2 Exide Orbital Gell cell batteries. I one battery is 7 years old and the other is 4 years old, both have checked out perfect all year AND this morning I started my 18:1 with one turn of the key on one glow plug cycle!!!
The batteries are 1000 CA...
This is made by Ranch Hand in Texas. My buddy calls it the "Ranch-hand of God" because whenever there is a "situation", this bumper will take care of it. Best bumper ever in my opinion, bolted right on. Weighs about 150 pounds but does the job if you know what I mean ):h
Here is another look...
When my head gasket was bad, I lost more coolant in the winter cold then I did in the summer heat. Be careful not to blow it up, or maybe you should and that might get you out from getting screwed by the dealer. Good luck.
Oh yea, with the truck warmed up, open the little brass screw/valve...
No dyno yet, got a house and hand full of work with it. I have just been driving my truck regularly, no dyno yet. I have a slew of front end issues coming up as I have just clicked over 200,000 miles and I have never worked on the front suspension of my truck
Truck is running great...
I live in Northern IL, gets a lil nippy up here. Beginning/middle of December it was mighty cold, all single digit days and some below zero nights. I start my 18:1 every morning within 5 seconds of cranking. I let the standard glow plug time go, then turn the key and it fires right up, every...
I have a 3.5" stainless DP in my truck that I built. It took a lot of time and tig work to get it to fit and not hit the frame or engine. Totally worth it though, my max EGT went down over 100 F and I think I picked up about 1 MPG because now I see about 380 miles to a tank.
Wow, I have been out of the loop for a while I guess, looks like everyone is making great progress on transforming 6.5's into more then just a poor man's diesel.
Just to save me reading time, any dyno figures with this new turbo?
