Ok now i have a better idea as to how the Battery connector mod works since i just finished doing it on the passenger side battery. I was having problems with the truck earlier this week and part of it was a loose bolt on the passenger side positive terminal where it holds the crossover wire and...
Thanks! now i see what you are talking about. So basically if i want to add more gear such as lights or a trickle charger i would stack their ring terminals between the nut and the terminal for the battery cables. So basically where the washers are shown in those pics?
For some reason i cant just visualize what you guys are describing. Could very well be due to exhaustion but does anyone have a picture of this mod done to their trucks?
So if im understanding this right basically i would be having two bolts sticking out past the terminals that i could stack connections on or simply use to connect booster cables if i ever have to jumpstart the truck?
Sorry for digging this up but I have a couple questions.
1. Are the new flight systems pmds direct plug and play replacements for the old black stanadyne pmds?
2. Do the cables that leroy (burning oil) sells for the stanadynes have the proper connector to adapt the new grey pmds to the old plug...
Nice! I will def keep it in mind. Im planning on switching to dual post batteries in the near future so I have connection points for accessories like the winch im adding. So I will def keep that upgrade in mind when I change the batteries.
These may solve your problem man!

They are dual purpose. They can be used to change the gauge angle or used as a dimmer ring to redirect glare from the lighting
Ahhh ok that makes sense then. i thought the prob was interference with the Turbo. Good to know now that i will be getting a complete 6.5 Turbo as well to scavenge parts from for the conversion. There is a spun bearing in the 6.5 hence why that engine wont be used. However i will be using the...
Nice! thanks for the info on both fitment and suggesting other batteries. Yea i was kinda scratching my head for a bit to figure out how the heck to run accessories with the side post set up. Ideally i will prob put posts on the side posts and run marine adapters for adding my add on parts to...
Ok I am seriously considering the idea of running optima red or yellow top batteries in my truck since i will be adding a winch as well as several off road lights on it soon. Now my question is can i safely run dual post batteries in my truck without making contact with the hood and shorting...
Nice! i will def look into that as an option. I have located a shop here in town that if i took my original alt, or a usable core to them they can rebuild it as a 160 amp with a different rear cover on it for better cooling. I will compare the price between that option and the CS144. Its a pity...
Wowza..just finished reading this thread. New shop looks great man! I agree though...we can do with a lot less religion in this thread. No offence Thankful but not everyone needs it pushed into their face. And before you say anything on it..Please dont. I have my reasons and i would rather not...
Yea mine was like that initially as well. Still trying to sort out what happened. I do know there was an accidental coolant leak on sunday night mostly due to the bleeder screw not being tightened up again after we topped up the coolant. Just hoping that didnt screw something up on the alt.
Thanks! Not sure what that is either. I did get a chance to get over to the GMC dealer here and they printed me off a full list of all the RPO items in the truck. So now i have an exact list. When i get some time tomorrow i will compare the list that i came up with to that one to see how much of...
Some more pics from today
I also took the time tonight to decode the RPO codes that i found in the glove box heres what i found...
AC7: Pipe, Fuel tank fill vent - unrestricted

Well after making another deal with the friend i got my truck from i now have a complete 6.5 Turbo Diesel that i can scavenge the parts from to build my 6.2 into a turbo. So the plan at the moment is to rebuild the heads from the 6.5 and use them and the rest of the top end from it on the "Red...
