    Aux fan temp switches

AC is full width, trans, engine and PS stack is on drivers side to about half way across, leaves passenger side available for heat exchanger. I live where I need to haul water to underground tank. Normally I use an 86 Ford 350 CS with a 500 gallon tank. This morning I slid the tank to the...

Gauges don't read right--hope it's the right place for this

Gauges are working OK now. Voltmeter is still a bit low but better. New sending unit for Temp. Pulled the cluster and cleaned the contacts--fixed the rest, all read a bit higher now--think it might have been either the +12 or gnd.

    Aux fan temp switches

Truck shows RPO code V05 HD Radiator, V08 HD Cooling System, V12 Aux PS cooling, V14 Aux Trans cooling, V16 Aux Engine oil cooling. Might be part of one or another of these. I do know that the trans cooling lines do NOT go into radiator and the core is 3" thick. Got a WTA intercooler on the...

Anybody got a 2 5/8" alternator snake belt pully

I spent two days going from NAPA, Autozone, O'Riley, Car Quest, Pep Boys etc. And 3 different dealers, five wrecking yards. If you go to any of the retail outlets and say "1994 K2500 4x4 with 6.5 turbo diesel alternator" the Alt. they give you has a 2 1/4 to 2 7/16" diameter pulley, supposed...

Anybody got a 2 5/8" alternator snake belt pully

In need of the right pully. Aparrently, '94 diesels are the only year that used the alternator as a source for the tach. My alternator was replaced and no one checked the pully, original got turned in for exchange and new one has a much smaller pulley so tach reads way high. Right size is 2...

    What's this QWP thing???

Thanks war, but nothing in the wiring was burned up or even melted a little. Problem with the blower was the resistor board. For some unknown reason GM added thermal fuses to each of the resistors. Unfortunately they are very close to the coils and in this case two were popped. I found them...

Gauges don't read right--hope it's the right place for this

Not in years. Used to be on the harley forums but got tired of the bull. I do go to Sturgis every few years with my dad's old '48 ULH flat head. It's still all original except for tune up stuff, tires and a NOS voltage reg. about 10 years ago, 34k. Getting hard to find new original style...

Gauges don't read right--hope it's the right place for this

That's the "R" version, I watched the dealer put it together from the box. Sorry, I know 'off topic' and wrong forum, just ur the only other owner of one that I have run across in 20 years, a few VF's around tho.

Gauges don't read right--hope it's the right place for this

BTW, AK, I saw in your sig u have a VF1000R. I have an '84 serial number 84. My pride and joy, stock original with 12k on it. Designator for mine is VFR1000, came with the gear drive stack for the cams rather than chain drive--what a crotch rocket!!!

Gauges don't read right--hope it's the right place for this

OK, so the one on the front of the drivers side head runs the gauge. Thanks. I can live with a voltmeter that is out of calibration a lot easier than a temp gauge.

Sorry, I mean to say 6 cm. Per the link, small is 2 7/16 or about 63, large is 2 5/8 or about 70. Mine is 2 1/4 or about 60mm.

Gauges don't read right--hope it's the right place for this

Two of the gauges I know are not reading properly. Here's a recap: Voltmeter reads low and so does the temp gauge. I get 14.1 on the battery terminals with it running, gauge shows about 12 volts--(1 1/2 notch below the 14 volt mark). Temp gauge reading about 175 degrees but the ECT sensor...

    Stock 4L80E WOT shift points

Now that doesn't make sense--one that's on there is amost 60 [B]centimeters.[B] If it needs to be bigger it shure can't be 52 milimeters.

    Stock 4L80E WOT shift points

Thanks Ferm. I am sure that you are right!!! Maint. logs that came with truck shows a new alternator last year. It also might explain why the tensioner is very near the end of travel--smaller alt pully. Will track down the right pully--any ideas who might carry just the pully????
