Thanks for the info. My starter solenoid I think went bad. Theres power to the glow plugs and everything else electric but when I turn the key all the way I get nothing. I've had bad connection problems on the starter before but when that happened I didn't get power to anything. I don't know how...
Anybody know the specs or a model number for a starter that works well with the 6.2? I've heard that the one that the autoparts store gives you is the wrong one and doesn't last long at all.
Somehow on mine the 2 long and narrow bolts that run through the whole thing actually loosened up. I...
Missy, the spots you said to check for cracks on the block, if there is cracks there that are bad enough to be a problem (I'm thinking all crack are problematic but I don't know) would they be visible by eye? Or if I see them by looking at them then that just tells me not to waste time or money...
Alright ready for my newest problem?...haha. My heater control valve leaks, and finding a replacement has proven to be difficult. All the units they sell at regular auto stores aren't the right ones. My sub has rear heat also so there's 2 heater cores. My heater control valve has 6 ports total...
I can try diesel depot, but I've had the same problem when I call, he NEVER answers or calls back. I don't think it would have been mixed up with another cylinder because it's so close to the same, but I will check tommorrow because you never know, especially with me. And ya I'm getting real...
I got the new injector line today, got it up and running and everythings almost back to normal. The new injector line I got though was bent a little different than the old though. Accurate diesel told me that was the only one they have for the older 6.2's so I don't know why mines shaped...
The radiator for my truck has the oil cooler internal, I had the old one tested but the guy said he couldn't get it to leak for nothing. He did say however that since it wasn't hot when he tested it that the test isn't %100. I did get a new one though because the old one was caked bad with oil...
Ya it is, the hard part was the wires for the GP and WIF bulb were short and they slide into the bezel thing so it was just a tight fit. I guess I'm just complaining though...haha
No WIF bulb check when i start the truck. I didn't know it was supposed to do that. As for the wires, I'm going to tinker around a bit more later, I hope the bulbs not bad because it was a pain in the butt to take all that crap off to get to it.
Thanks for the info. How should I store the block till I can find a place and afford to get it magnufluxed? It has a lot of oil caked on it so I thought that might save it from the weather, but perhaps I can spray the rest of it down with lithium grease and shrink wrap it too?
I remember...
Hello everyone. I'm tearing down my older 6.2 motor out of my 84 suburban for extra parts. The motor when together orginally had an issue with oil (alot of it) in the cooling system but not the other way around, then later on me and my friend had the heads checked (they turned out fine but...
I tested again and noticed that yellow and red both seem to have constant power, and black and purple both seem to be the ground. I tried my voltage tester with the four wires and got a reading off of all combination's using either red or yellow as a power wire. So there goes everything I...
Well I tried to test it but I just got more confused. The black and yellow together showed a voltage. The mystery colors are red and purple. The red was hot with the sensor in a cup of water and with it out. The purple wasn't hot with either sensor in water or not.
I did see on the back of the...
I will see if the WIf fits in new filter, but where's the vaccum sensor? I looked at your diagram and only saw a restriction switch, heater and the WIF sensor.
I don't want you to go out of your way for it. Is there a way I could plug the filter onto the housing, then connect the wires to a battery, check the two unknown wires to see if their hot or not, then fill the filter with water and test the two unknown wires again. If one of the wires is hot...
I talked to Tim at accurate diesel and he said the lines are different, I guess there's a different angle when going to the heads. But he was able to find me one and it's on it's way.
Any luck with the wiring?
I was talking to bobbiemartin about the injector lines. And it's for the DB2 pump but their off of a 6.5 and mines a 6.2. Will that work? I'm not sure if the lines will be bent the same to fit around the intake.
Is this what your talking about?

It says for temporary use, would it be ok for long term until I could find a regular one?
