Yep from what I understand the block is essentially the same and it will mate right up to the 4l80e. You can fit in place of a 6.5 I am just wondering if it will work with the ECM for OBD 1. There might be some modifications to make it work with 6.5 TD Serpentine belt setup.

I drove the truck w/o towing just usual DD type mostly. This tank I averaged 17.2 Mpg pretty good overall I think. It will be interesting to see what an ATT, and new injectors might do for the truck.

Why not spend the cash and put in an optimizer or better yet a P400 probably costs about the same and all you really need to do the P400 is modify the oil pan.
