Oh yah........ Run as much weight as they let you too. Try to put the extra weight(if needed) as far up front as possible.( I had to add 2300# of tractor weights to front of box and in the cab on my 95). Also get the rules from where you are going to pull cause everywhere i go seems to be...
I pretty much do as you said(drop t-bars,4 low,25 psi in front tires 40psi in rear) I use D and let it shift. Also hook as high as they let you. I tried clamping the rear springs once, but it made the truck bounce and had to let off.
Good luck!
I knew i wouldnt get an answer without that question!! I was just thinking about that cause i pull my trucks at the local truck pull. I dont really compete with the big dollar trucks, but its fun and i beat the heck out of other 6.5 ers, and older fords and dodges! I was just wondering about a...
I think i would buy it back for the best possible price, rip off the old bed and check for any other damage. Go dig under that tarp and put the dually box on that you have. You probably would have enough money left for the burb and to have someone give that new bed a quick paint job to match!!!!!
Just curious.......... what brand of lift pump did you get from autozone? If there isnt anything restricting the flow before your guage or on the return side i think i will get one from there. You ordered one for a 93 right? How much does the pressure drop when your driving it or at wot?
Not sure yet
I haven't really had a chance to test it out the way i want to yet. I did this to lower EGT's and IAT's when pulling my 5th wheel camper long distances.
What i can tell you is that i lost about 2 psi of boost at first. But i just turned up my homemade turbomaster and that came...
I paid $298 shipped from canada. I got the parts from another member on here and i think it was all purchased seperately, but im not sure. So the hard work was already done for me!
"i would be worried about the PMD right there, all it takes it 1 rock from a tire and its dead."
i have it...
Thanks guys! The bumper is a ranch hand. It helped to have that so the intercooler could be mounted straight up, instead of on an angle. It should cool better that way. The other thing that helped is the body lift. (Gave me more room to run the tubing). As far as pictures go, i didnt take any...
I finally got my intercooler installed! It sat on the shelf long enough and i have alot of time on my hands so i thought it would be a good time to get it done. Here are a few pics.........................
Other maintenance should include track tension, (dont run it to tight) power valve maintanance,(they get gummed up. should be cleaned once a year or maybe more depending on oil you run) clutch cleaning, and, belt alignment. Also check all the idler wheels on the skid for bearings that are going...
I gut the caps on my trucks. Read about it a couple years ago. Sounded like the right thing to do at the time. Something about too much vacuum in tank makes the lift pump work harder and possibly the IP work harder. If i remember correctly.
First off........ thanks for all the replies! Also this is on the 96 truck. As far as how warm things are getting im not to sure. It stays plugged in all night. And when i get to work it gets plugged in all day. It really never has a chance to cool off! The temp gauge is still all the way...
