Yall are great! I cant remember what I done in the tank. But this came on kinda sudden over the coarse of a long trip. So I am ruling out the pick up on this simply because it rocked before.
I do wonder about the check valve in the lift pump. But......Today I tried to rebuild the FFM. Had it...
I am running a stock 6.5 pump and lines. I talked to those who was there when I did it and they said I dropped the tank and connected the sock(a new one) to the line above the pump. My memory sucks! So basically I made my own diesel pick up inside the tank.
The glow plugs are fine. The IP is...
I forgot to mention it was way cheaper! Lol hey thanks I am gonna send that to Buddy and see if he will listen. I know it but as redneck as I am its harder to get the belief!
I am trying to explain that to my brother who has a 160wasted in his dmax. I was running the 185 but it kept getting warm when towing in high heat. I was looking for something lower that would fit but not too low. The 175 was just what I found. It worked.
4911 and yep! was a stolen/recovery 2500 ext cab 4wd. The 6.0 gasser was missing. Had a 95 I bought that was ugly but low mileage. Pulled and didnt want to wire it for DS4. Had the new 4911 that I fell into on a trade! Rest is history.....or sitting outside knowing its not gonna start in the AM!
Ya know I was considering that sock too. Here's why.....It still has the electric gas fuel pump in the tank I think! I dont remember taking it out when I built the truck! And my fuel I filled up with before the trip was questionable too.
I may have to take a day off work to fix it. Only wheels...
Hey google racing radiator caps. We have 2 choices. 24-28 psi or 28-32 psi. Pressurizing the system does what is said above. It raises the boiling point greatly. Being hot isn't what hurts an engine. My corvair heat gauge read 200 to 600 degrees. It hit the high side on many o parades! Boiling...
Ok this is a new trick that years of 6.x trucks hasnt done to me.
Friday I drove up north in my 01 6.5 db2 truck. 2.5 hour drive one way. run like a top all the way to Indy. Was in the trade show for about 8 hours and it was a little hard to start. Chocked it up to being cold and run hard...

Definitely thru the inner fender. I usually take a utility knife and cut a small section out where I can get at it. Just big enough and it wont affect anything.
I have 2 67-72 trucks with 6.2s! My favorite ones to drive!
One thing to look for on the pistons is if the rings still fit right. Sometimes when something hits the top of a piston it will compress the top slightly. I dont have the specs but there should be a ring clearance. Measure with a...
Had to let her sit for a while so I could round up cash for a down payment on a house! Selling a big truck and will have enough left over to fix this one! Gonna go with the scat crank and the Federal Mogule bearings. Thinking about the girdle too. Y'all think I should? I can fab it. I will need...
I have done the switches twice now. First with the old 93 manual pump truck. Employee had messed up when dropping last 6.2 in. Exhaust leak burnt up wiring which ran the 4L80E. It was an old work truck and I was stuck 200 miles from home with trailer on. I knew how to wire it so I spent $5 on 2...
