Oil Filter Adaper O-rings for 6.5

I was able to replace the o-rings Monday night in the driveway. I purchased a 1 3/8" (3/4" drive) socket, a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter and a 10" long 1/2" extension. Worked great, but a cheater bar or long breaker bar would have been very useful. All the o-rings fit snug. The large o-ring seemed...

Oil Filter Adaper O-rings for 6.5

Sounds like more job than I expected. I have to move the driveshaft? I would rather buy a tool than move the shaft. Is there a special tool?

Is that a wrench or a socket?

    Special Thanks

Just wanted to give a special thanks to Quinten, aka qwomack!! He spent several hours in the heat a couple of Saturdays ago getting the timing just right on my Suburban. Truck is running great. Thanks again, Todd

Oil Filter Adaper O-rings for 6.5

I ordered the oil filter adapter o-ring kit from Leroy, and it should be here today. Does anyone know what size wrench/socket that I need to remove/replace the bolts on the adapter? Thanks, Todd

Feed the Beast Fittings and Kit available now!

I think the original lines are 1/4". That is an increase in cross-sectional area of 2.25 (225% increase). WOW!

    Oil feed line

Maybe leroydiesel.com can help. He sells oil cooler lines, maybe he can make a turbo oil line as well.

    Security Light, NO START

I asked them about the two grounds on the stud closest to the pass. side firewall. They said is was re-grounded when they took the intake off. That makes more sense than the rogue glow plug wire. Thanks, Todd

    Security Light, NO START

Ok, I finally got the burban back. Diesel shop fixed the fuel leaks and set the timing. In the process of removing the intake to fix the leak(s), they apparently did something to trigger the security feature on the truck. It sounds like they pulled one of the glow plug wires out of the connector...

    Security Light, NO START

Thanks Tim, Will find out more details tomorrow. Been kind of frustrating because my 1st job does not allow much flexibility as far as phone calls, but tomorrow, at my second job, I will be able to communicate with them much more. Also, the shop is just 5 miles from my second office. I will...

Theft deterrent learn 97+ year vehicles

Thanks guys. I will know more about the condition of my truck tomorrow (Monday). I have had to work Fri, Sat and Sun, so I could not go to the shop to talk to mech. and have him try your suggestions. He may have already tried, I don't know. I work tomorrow also, but my second job gives me much...

    Engine Code P0302

P0302 fixed. I did not tighten the injector line on the new pump enough, DOH!

    Security Light, NO START

Ok, my saga continues :mad2: Dropped the burban off at the diesel mechanic to set the timing for the new IP that I installed and to fix the fuel leak. Mechanic removed the intake, now the security light is on and will not allow truck to start. Any suggestions? Thanks, Todd

    New Injector Pump

Finally got my truck running again (although rough, needs timing adjustment). With the encouragement of Tim, aka Turbine Doc, I pulled the intake back off and found that I had pinched the three wires of the OPS together. I checked their continuity, cleaned and taped them up, replaced the OPS...

    8 lug C1500 Suburban?

My apologies to all who tried to inform me of what I actually have!! Don't know why I thought that I had a "C" in front of the 1500 on the door. Just stubborn and boneheaded as my wife would agree. Thanks for the input. I guess I have a 99 Suburban k1500. Love this forum. Todd

    8 lug C1500 Suburban?

No big deal, but my door badges do say C1500 and I do have 4x4. Oh well, just wondering if it was rare or not. Thanks, Todd

    8 lug C1500 Suburban?

I am the 2nd owner of vehicle. As far as I know, the doors are factory. I know I have 4wd. I will have to check the RPO codes for the axle ratios. Todd

    8 lug C1500 Suburban?

Tim thought the odd part was the 1/2 ton 8 lug diesel.
