    Help needed on long island

On a side note.....the metal cover/ body of the solenoid was loose as though it was either hitting against something or someone previously used it to turn the pump while setting timing.....never seen that before....but the more that I think about it the more I think it was all caused by the...

    Help needed on long island

Problem was two fold.....somehow the nuts holding the injection pump backed off completely and the pump of course went out of timing AND the fuel shut off solenoid went south....I see no logical reason for both to happen at the exact same time except that when the pump loosened up maybe the...

    Help needed on long island

Here's an update....after much checking and rechecking I found the fuel shut down solenoid to be not working....Bill Heath had mentioned that he could count on 1 finger all the solenoid failures he's encountered, but I guess now he can use 2 fingers.... Lol. Anyhow, I got the pump back where...

Awesome....THANKS LOUIS!!! Tim aka Turbine Doc did tell me to look you up....might take you up on that offer! :) As far as I can tell and from the opinions of a few good people that I've spoken to, like Bill Heath, my engine timing should be fine and I'm looking at either a ground issue or a...

    Help needed on long island

Yup...checked for codes....the only one was for timing out of spec which is to be expected....no other codes, no smoke, just a real crappy and low idle with no response from the accelerator at all. No other leaks or anything else found so far, just the loose pump. I've always been on top of...

    Hi from Long Island

CRD owners this far east are rare! Haha. Do you know any "locals" with scanners/tools for the 6.5's? Had the pump flange nuts loosen up on me yesterday causing the pump to back out....and I sold all my 6.5 stuff a long time ago....so now I'm kind of stuck..... :( p/s....I'm in the Smithtown...
