I would think so as well Aces.
The motor purrs like a kitten... But I have had the stock (or Dorman) HB break before (thus the current Fluidampr) and the Auto Tranny flex plate broke once as well. So I have had "abuse" done to the crank. Not on purpose of course, and not for long.
we...
At lunch I went to Advance Auto and grabbed a serp belt... Replaced no problem... BUT there is crazy wobble coming from the crank pulley!!! NOOOOOOOO!
One of three things is now the issue:
1. Outer pulley (I hope so)
2. Fluidampr took a dump (highly unlikely)
3. Crank is broken.
Lets hope...
For a background of this issue please refer to this thread: http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?24755-Vacuum-Pump-delete-Question...&highlight=belt+length
In summary, there has been some debate over the issue of belt lifespan after removal of the vacuum pump. In other words...
x2 for AE. The upgrades you can add when needed. When you get the GM module it covers all GM cars/trucks.
After that $100ish more per would get you Ford/Mopar or whatever you need.
For personal use AE, but if you plan on using it for work then that is a different story.
YMMV.
I ordered a Fluidampr last night with some other goodies from Summit.
The Dorman replacements are trash IMO.
We will see.
I think the Fluidampr is extremely pricey for what it is though. It better be better than sliced bread or it will get a poor review from me.
100% agree there!
1. PMD
2. Exhaust
Pyro BEFORE any performance chips are added. Plus a boost gauge, they are cheap.
Pyro if you tow even stock... IMO Pyros should be mandatory on any diesel.
... I am in a place that I cannot talk about. Doing things I cannot talk about. And that I cannot take pictures of.
BUT I am staring at pallets full of NEW 6.5 motors attached to transmissions waiting to be deployed who knows where. GM tagged Melton engines. Mechanical pumps too boot...
Did I mention exhaust? :)
Also we need to talk about those Pioneer amps... Check out the new Phoenix Gold stuff. Very nice. And when you say MBQ it better be the old German stuff. Granted I did pick up some PTK40 tweets that I have yet to try out, but they get great reviews. Nothing beats...
I got the A/C rebuild kit off of gar-bay and I am stuck on figuring out where the orifice tube goes? The long filter thing if orifice tube is the wrong term :)
From what Aces said I am just going to go by refridgerant Lbs and temp out of the vents.
Should be a blast tomorrow! I am have...
Turbomaster time! You need more boost. Oddly enough it cools the EGTs. I suspect issues with the stock vacuum pump.
Also in a hurry get rid of the stock exhaust!!!
Oh Oh Oh... Glad I waited a while :) This is the next item on my list.

Dang you guys are doing great!
17.1 last fill up for the K2500 Burb. Actually the speedo is off so it is really a little higher than 17.1... Best ever 21 all highway. The Burb is consistent on 17, I fill up at the same place every Monday morning.
The 96 K3500 gets 15.5 no matter what.
Glad to see I am not the only one here with this issue!
Pics... Can come when I install the rear... Whenever it arrives.
So far the Burb 99.9% of the time is on blacktop... No need for the disconnects here.
Again more to come.
