I just made my own from 0/1 and 4 guage car audio battery wire.
But it is probably easier to buy a premade set. I just wanted to modify a couple connections when I changed mine out.
This would be for a motor swap to the '71 C-10. 6.2 NA connected to a T-5 manual and using big block motor mounts. From what I have heard, it is a pretty straight forward conversion. Granted add a Turbo and it gets complicated (no room) fast.
Newbie question here, but how does the manual shifter linkage work on the 6.2 setup?
With the 350 it has a bolt pivot location on the block... Not sure for a 6.2, but I would image it would have to be close in nature. Too early for hydraulic clutches.
Thanks!
The 15 minute trick did not work so well this morning... Still coughed up some white smoke and clattered a little, around 27F last night.
This weekend I will buy a timer for the 2 hour window and see how that goes.
Oops, I let mine cook all night. Is this a bad thing?
Anything under 40F and I like to plug it in. Although it hasn't ever failed to start due to cold when not plugged in.
Perhaps getting an outlet timer would be worthwhile!
Well it is officially cold!
Time to start plugging them in at night!
I got the extension cord out yesterday and plugged in the Burb last night. Good thing since the weather got down into the twentys last night. Started like a champ and warmed up quickly :) Not even a puff of smoke...
I agree with Buddy on this issue. The 4L80E has a dead spot around 45 mph no matter what turbo is on it due to its shifting nature... Too early into OD at 45, it should be moved up to 50 IMO.
I had my flexplate break as well... Sounded horrible, but did not cause damage in the way yours did.
I sent mine to the shop for a quick fix, but if you do not mind pulling back your tranny you can do it at home. Not that hard, just time consuming.
Good luck!
Fuel filter?
Check that you are getting a good flow of fuel from the drain "T" while running. (essentially the water drain valve)
To me it sounds like a fuel delivery issue if everything else is running well.
