    Crank pulley????

The woodruff key is if you pull the HB. It should be. Replaced each time. There isn't a pulley or balancer that doen't come from China, these days. Keep a close eye on the pulley. Mine lasted a little over 2 years. The HB is important. If its disturbed, reinstall it correctly. See...

    Fuel Manager Heater FYI

If it runs in cold enough weather for very long, odds are it will wax up. Enough wax build up and it will starve for fuel and die. No fuel heater / real cold weather / carry a spare filter. Beats being stranded.

here a weird one. "Death Wobble"

YES, a bad / damaged dampener can give you a wobble. I just about put my 83 in the ditch once it wobbled so bad. Recheck the idler and pitman, but if the dampener looks pretty old or shows signs of leakage, its relatively cheap.

Replacing my ball joint dust boots

You can get universal boots, but pending on mileage, might be a lot of work on an old ball joint. They may not seal as well and would then need more frequent greasing to keep the bad stuff flushed out. On removal, back the nut off a couple turns. With suspension pressure on the knuckle...

    Cruise not working

BTW, I eliminated the cruise wiring immediately, when it quit. The ODBII scan tool showed all of the related Cruise control inputs to the PCM. Each changed state as they were switched: Cruise enabled, Cruise Set, brake pedal switch, etc. Before screwing with that EXPENSIVE multi function...

    Cruise not working

FACT: (personal experience) I found that when I added my PMD relocation cable, my cruise quit working. I suspected the PMD was starting to fail before moving it. (had a few instances of fishbiting, cold stalls, etc) I ran for almost a year without cruise control, before my PMD finally...

    Fall Harvest!

Vinny, That's an impressive pile of Silage. Near my families farm, there's a large dairy that cuts a couple thousand acres each year. Its impressive to watch those large machines mow through a field. Be safe this harvest season. I'll start my yearly pilgrimage to the farm in a...

Isuzu D-max 4x4 Turbo Diesel 3.0L Double Cab Pickup

Unfortunately, we'll never see this truck here. Probably couldn't even import one if you wanted.

    What pre-cups do I have

The only way to know for sure is to pull the head. Sorry. Here was a good thread on the different precups out there. http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?11778-6.2-6.5-precups&highlight=precup

    want to rebuild my engine

If your on a budget, things can get expensive quickly. You can check some things out first, for very little money. Try to isolate the compression leak. You can isolate the bank, by pulling the t-stat cross over, removing the fan belt to disable the water pump. start the engine...

Light Bar - LEO to Amber Conversion

update: Hit Ebay for some parts. Picked up some Amber wrap around rotator lens, amber lenses for the intersection sweeps, and replaced red & blue wig / wag flasher with amber's. Still working on the red / blue rotators. Most of the reflective surface was peeling. Scotch brite made quick...

    -10AN Oil Cooler Hose Upgrade

Thanks Leroy, I just didn't want it to rub on stuff. That's why I put the clamps on.

    $#^%#$%&*$ Accessory drive pulley

Stated to hear a clanking sound at idle in the truck. It was louder with the A/C on, quieted down when it was idled up. A/C compressor pulley was loose and sounded rough,so it got replaced. The noise was better, but still there. I was able to turn the alternator pulley 1/3 to almost 1/2...

    -10AN Oil Cooler Hose Upgrade

Purchased a -10AN Oil Cooler Hose Upgrade from Leroy [Burning Oil] @ www.pmdcable.com. I had replaced the stock lines with stock line when the 6.2/6.5 hybrid went in. Two problems, cold oil pressure was +80psi and the hose crimps always would seep. Secondly, I worn a hole in the aluminum line...

    4911 Inner Workings

Honestly, I wouldn't make any pump adjustment without being on a test bench to verify what in the hell I'm changing. If really required, idle and max RPM ok to make. But pressure and advance changes can make for more trouble than pulling the pump and taking it to a shop. About the time...

    Remote mounted OPTIC SENSOR???

Fail. Memory fails me again. crap, damm old age. Tone ring goes the wrong direction and probably not enough room to mount an industrial prox the other way. But . . .

    Remote mounted OPTIC SENSOR???

Sometimes more annoyances come with the mech solution. Sometimes it is just the challenge of just making it work with what you have. The mind is kind of thinking . . . . What I remember, the tone ring for the OS has a uniformly gap ring, correct? Possibly a wide slot for cylinder 1? Many...

    DIY Fan Clutch mod

Sorry to hear that Kenny. I figured I would break mine too. Especially after bending it twice, the first time I went the wrong way. I've spent enough on that engine as it is.

    DIY Fan Clutch mod

Finally made the fan clutch mod! Moved the bend about 3/16 toward the tip. What a difference. Have not taken any measurements with the scanner, but when the thermostat opens, you can hear the fan kick in. Once it cools down it kicks out. Tried carrying the plow around for a little...
