Suburbans won't start without being plugged in awhile?

I had a few that had to be gently wiggled and worked out but not as bad as i expected...especially considering my controller kept turning my GP's on while driving or idling after it was warm.

Suburbans won't start without being plugged in awhile?

The controller only controls when the glow plugs are needed to be turned on or not based on engine temperature. Hooking up a manual push button switch just bypasses the controller altogether and lets you do it yourself. I even have my controller unhooked (the weird cap with the wires in it) and...

Well, finally hit the limit and it's egt's....

I was thinking either foundation tar like the turbo's used or doing some small body work and preparing the truck now and go straight to the Line-X place when i hit St.John's and have the whole underside/frame and rockers done with it.

Suburbans won't start without being plugged in awhile?

I followed this video, except i used a big huge momentary push button switch from a semi truck parts supplier: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jsa61_EhSM This is probably the best method as it doesn't require running high amp voltage through small wires int the cab. You are just running...

Well, finally hit the limit and it's egt's....

I'm gonna be moving there in the summer sometime and the thought of having to bring my mint 83 K5 out there is freaking me out LOL

air intakes, filters, options for breathing better....

Most experiments i've made with CAI's and intakes in general (limited experience with diesels though) is it's important to have a big good quality filter, some protection from the rest of the engine bay and it's best to use plastic material tubing (like stock or K&N) as it doesn't absorb heat...

    Timbrens, how do they work?

I use to install them quite often for customers when i worked for Action truck caps. Most of them were plow trucks and they couldn't be happier. I know some people used them to gain a little bit of static lift because the control arm rests on it and raises it a little like a torsion crank. I...

Bringing Back A Set of PYO's From The Dead

Black wheels were never a fad for me, been a fan of them even when people thought it was cheap looking and everything had to be polished aluminum or chrome. I hate chrome LOL I plan on doing something similar with a set of PYO's i have too, so i'm subbed for some ideas :D

Any thoughts on the Air Dog or Air Dog II

You must work on the Manic X's (i don't know what to call them as a collective). It's the first sign of life we see when driving out that way from Labrador. Kinda nice to have this big giant hydro dam (Manic 5) just out in the middle of nowhere after driving through windy dirty roads for hours...

    Mechanical Lift Pump Questions

I didn't know i could disconnect the pump. that is a good option until i can get a proper block off plate. I saw one on summit that has a fitting built in, perfect for a turbo oil return. it will do me good until i can get a new one wired in place. Thanks!

    Mechanical Lift Pump Questions

Is the 6.2L mechanical lift pump specific to the 6.2L or can i use a gasoline pump without an issue? I ask because i live in Labrador, where i can barely get new parts for this old of a truck, let alone an old diesel and if i can find parts it takes more than a week to get here. So i was...

    More winter projects...

The drivers door on my 98 K1500 was absolutely Fubar one winter, i already had a bad interior door handle, so i was rolling the window up and down to open it from the outside...the hinge pins and bushings were totalled and the door was getting increasingly hard to shut and the temps were...

    quick kerosene question

I think the DS4 IP's had all hardened internals IIRC. The arctic pump DB2's have the same hardened parts as well IIRC. I don't have the best memory sometimes so the IIRC's are there to save my ass

    K-5 body mounts

I am not looking forward to this on my truck LOL I plan on doing it before spring is in full effect.

    84 K5 Blazer DMAX ????

I just spent $5000 on a wrecked 2500HD for it's drivetrain recently (LQ4,4L80E, manual t-case). it's a 2005 and only had 60,000kms on it (less than 40,000 miles). It was worth it for the ease of swapping in different year stuff but was still expensive for a truck with a trashed bed, rear axle...

Have 6.5 turbo diesel engine want to replace it

EDIT: Didn't realize the date of the original post nor the amount of pages of this thread...sounds like you've changed your mind so my post may not make a bunch of sense. We've all been there man, sometimes that's just what happens with a vehicle. Just finished running the gauntlet on my 2500HD...

    Me

Nice truck! I never seen a Centurion Bronco, but i don't know much about the different Centurion conversions done to anything other than GM's.

starting a cool conversion....6.2l/6.5l hybrid swap into a 1993 dodge short box

I just noticed this!! It was bad enough losing all the stuff but to lose all those kitties :( My cat died late last year and i was a mess LOL He was 19 years old, died of old age, lived a long love filled life too. I have a soft spot for kitties and this only made me more sad than i was before.

'06 LBZ - Does the MAF Sensor Require Periodic Maintenance?

If you can't find that specific brand of stuff, any electric contact cleaner will do the job. They are not harsh and will evaporate within seconds so it doesn't foul sensors and stuff. No need to wipe the MAF as it has very thin wires that can easily be broken running across it. So just spray it...

    Balancing media, any opinions?

Most guys running large off road tires have been using airsoft BB's in there tires to the same effect. It may not be as nice as some specific ceramic balancing beads in the link above but it will do the same thing for less money. I think PBB has stickies on the amount of beads to use for the...
