I think I read earlier in this thread that you haven't done much to the bottom end except a girdle. Is this correct? Did you do the girdle? Did you align hone it with the girdle?
The studs came with the DSG girdle, don't have a # for just the studs.
I had read some about the align hone and it seems people go both ways. Do people who use ARP main studs without a girdle align hone?

Piston to bore should be .0035-.0049 for 1-6 and .0040-.0054 for 7 & 8.
That being said, I contacted peninsular about their 18 : 1 pistons and they said .0032-.0033 for 1-6 and .0037-.0038 for 7&8. That seems pretty close from what I've read but maybe that is good for 18:1.Does anyone Know...
My 6.5 rebuild includes a duel therm upgrade. My question is do the rubber o rings go below or on top of the thermostats? Also do I use RTV for a gasket?

Just wondering because I'm doing a build with a Clearwater (china) block and heads. I mentioned this on another forum and got blasted! Glad yo hear I'm not the only one going this way.
I had to heat my old pump to remove the pickup to install on the new pump.
Does the pickup just push into the new pump? What's the best way to do this?
I understand that the id of the bushing is small so the rod length can be adjusted but the shop says the rod it's self has to be bored for the bushing to be pressed in. Is this typical?
