yeah but try scuba steve-ing that thing up to just shy of intake depth and tell me what you get..
Intake depth on the blazer's about 4.5 foot or so... and all electronics that are in the rig are ruggedized and mounted higher than that.
I wouldn't mind having one but newer trucks just have too much that is susceptible to the environment when it comes to actual offroading... tie rods, etc.
Now that my frame's plated where the steering box is, basically there's not a whole lot that my truck can get deadlined from doing...
Yah, I thought about the flipover model but my trailer's got a lunette ring and any trailer I borrow from buddies has a 2 3/8 ball or whatever so I just got the 2 that I would be using the most...
off the top of my head, trying to remember what I typically pack for a trip...
Blazer packing list:
***fix it*** in 20mm ammo can kept in back
small spool of 16g wire
wire cutter/stripper/crimpers
some butt crimp connectors
some eye crimp connectors
some split end crimp...
When you're wheeling in Alaska, you're typically around 100-200 miles from a road depending on destination.
You gotta carry what you need to get there and get OUT.
The only issue with basically all BFG's is that in the terrain I encounter here in alaska they will fill up and not self-clean.. ESPECIALLY AT's... there's little to no terrain where those are really useful if you leave anything beyond an unimproved road here.
hence the getting stuck... Good...
right now 35" BFG AT's on the blazer, soon to be 37" muds, then 38" boggers once I can afford to buy a set.. probably will keep the 35's if possible for the winter, else i'll have to sipe the boggers a bit more

Just wheeling various places

painful version... didn't hear the rocks as I was in the cab with skinny pedal to the firewall LOL...
This is what I have on the silverado.
B&W Tow&stow, Pintle model. 16,000 capacity pintle, 10,000 standard ball.
I have had a trailer hitch stolen, so the reciever portion stays in and locked in, the removable portion stays under the rear seat in the cab unless it's being used. The pins COULD...

Now ya did it. You went and got it stuck. What to do?
Well, hopefully you're out with a buddy or buddies... and they have winches.
Here's how you can figure out exactly how FUBAR you are, and what you need to be able to pull you out in terms of winch...
