It won't start anymore! Besides, if it still had air in the system, wouldn't it still run rough even when the SES light came on? It ran nice when the light came on.
I'm double posting but I do think this needs it's own thread.
Ok, I replaced the lift pump, had a heck of a time getting the truck started again but it finally did. However, it was still "missing". I'd rev it up a bit and it would kind of go away but still "missing". I let it idle on it's own...

Our initial intention was to get a motorhome to haul the enclosed trailer and the race car... We were in a bit of a hurry and went with a diesel pick up instead. So before throwing any more money at it and still having hoped we had purchased a motorhome, I will fix it, and sell it (probably with...
After getting the issue fixed with the converter bolts backing off and also taking the starter nose out, we made a 3 hour trip to go race last weekend. The trip down was good except for one of the trailer brakes kept sticking.
On the way back, about 30 minutes from home it started... The...
Well, I'm still not sure I want to bring it back to him anyway, warranty or not. I had told him that the truck was used for heavy towing and long distances and to beef up what should be beefed up. He told me he put a shift kit in it (not likely, it doesn't shift any harder than before). I can...
I spoke to the tranny shop... He seems to think the flex plate is the problem (Even after I told him there are no more converter bolts connecting them together, converter bolts that HE installed in December). So I'm probably screwed.
Well, my flex plate didn't break, it's the torque converter bolts that loosened up and fell into the inspection cover.
As for quick fix, I'm really not looking forward to doing this on the gravel outside my garage where there's a mustang without a diffy in it taking up room!! This was not a...
Starter probably got taken out on the way home. I won't put that cover back on, a bolt falling out will likely not reek havoc inside there if it can't stay there
Here's a pic of the oil filter
Here's what was in the bottom of the inspection cover
I'm thinking that the inspection cover is not going back on... Should this stuff have just fallen to the ground, there wouldn't be that much damage.
Ok, first thing I did was drop the oil filter cuz I was thinking that would be the closest thing that would get shrapnel from the inspection cover and sure enough, there were 2 dings in the filter and one was through the metal. next I loosened off the crossover pipe and jiggled it enough to drop...
I haven't touched anything yet but I did take a look under the truck. The oil filter and surrounding area is soaked with oil, and the inspection cover is full of dings like something's been trying to get out. I'm wondering if anything may have poked a hole through the front of the inspection...
