    Back with a 6.2

I picked up a 85 K10 with the 6.2 and 700r4. Pretty happy with it. The trans is shot, so once I sell my dodge I'll get it rebuilt and do a few other things. It's good to be back in a detroit and it's good to be back here.

    I have a bad 700r4, can i use a 4l60e/4l80e? i cannot find a 700 for a diesel anywher

Ohhh okay, I understand your issue now. This is Jason by the way, you texted me yesterday. I had a 4L80e rebuilt here in Charlotte for $1000 about 5 years ago. Very reputable shop. He pulled it, rebuilt it with new solenoids, clutches, planetary and torque converter. Then reinstalled it. 6...

6.2 NA Build - Changed plans... again.

Yeah I appreciate it. I've had the block and heads over at the machinist for a while now. He called recently and said the heads are cracked, so I'm kinda just trying to figure out what I want to do and if I want to continue with this engine or not.

6.2 NA Build - Changed plans... again.

Finished stripping the engine down last weekend. Got the heads disassembled as well. Bosch injectors on the engine too. So I have two sets of bosch's to send off for rebuild now which is good. I'm going to drop it off at a machinist tonight and have him hot tank it and mag it. I need to...

6.2 NA Build - Changed plans... again.

Just a number, I believe you are right. I crawled underneath the burb last night and it appears to have a mechanical speedo coming from the transfer case. Output side.

6.2 NA Build - Changed plans... again.

Yeah my TCM and harness is from a 93 model 6.2/4L80e. I'm not going to use it though since it was out of a P30 van. I'm really not sure what speedo it is, that's something I'll need to figure out soon too. I would imagine electric, but I'm not sure. I apologize, I'll change the original...

    4l80e 2wd to 4wd conversion

It's a GM Reman with 20,000 on it. But yeah I'll most likely get him to go through it all while he's in. I'm glad you responded, I was going to PM you earlier today but forgot. I'm still working on gathering everything up for this project. Trying to do this all in sequence to keep from...

Haha yeah, I'd imagine so. If anything the convenience will be worth it.

6.2 NA Build - Changed plans... again.

I've got the block basically stripped down. The big thing is I need to find a decent machinist who half way understands these engines. I'm thinking just get the block cleaned and magnafluxed. Same with the heads too. I'll probably run a dingle berry hone down the cylinders before reassembly.

6.2 NA Build - Changed plans... again.

Exactly. I've read good things about them, not just because one of our site vendor sells them either.

6.2 NA Build - Changed plans... again.

Well I kinda changed up again on a 6.2 project. I've got the engine and 4l80e sitting around. I gotta do something with them. Still got the 96 gmc for sale... someone please buy it. Bought a 91 Suburban, GMC. V2500 4.10 gears NP241 350 tbi and TH400. I want to replace the driveline...

    Optishift for 4l80e

No, I've read good things about Baumann Electronics. I'm glad to see we have a site vendor here that sells it. I'm trying to get all my research done and parts lined up for a 6.2 diesel/ 4l80e swap in an 89 model suburban. I appreciate it and I'll definitely be contacting you in the future.

Kenny, did you ever install one of these things or hear anything else about them? Good or bad.

    Low Compression 6.2

I've seen it done on f-bodies before. I'd personally rather pull the engine. But everyone is different.
