    Shop Weekend: March 25th - 28th, 2011

Okay folks, here is what you need to know to get to the shop. If you can't get to Auburn, AL or Columbus, GA....there isn't much I can do for you. For those of you towing a camper, I HIGHLY recommend that you follow the route from I-85 in Auburn and follow that to the shop. The other...

If you'd like to attend, just hit the poll up top so it gives us an idea of how many folks would be attending.

A little about our Project '70 Chevelle

Actually, we did find a small problem this week. We were wondering why it seemed like it wasn't making full power and found that the throttle linkage was hitting the fuel lines and only giving it 2/3 throttle. Muwahahahaha! Game on now.

    Shop Weekend: March 25th - 28th, 2011

Folks, We'll be doing our annual shop weekend again this spring on March 25th - 28th, 2011 Last year we had about 42 trucks and about 60 people, including 3 fifth wheels, 2 travel trailers, lots of tents, etc. Basically what we do is open up house for these 4 days and it's a big wrench...

A little about our Project '70 Chevelle

It got faster throughout the night. That was THE first pass it made and it was running super rich with only 6 psi of boost. Came up 5 psi on the next run, 5 on the run after that and 3 psi after that we started having traction issues.....track cooled off and the dew was starting to settle...

A little about our Project '70 Chevelle

Okay, So all the BS is worked out with the Chevelle. Had to ditch the TH400 for a PTC Power Glide after the motor grenaded the sprag. Added a 1/2 gal air tank and a Viair compressor to control the wastegate. Haven't had it back on the dyno yet to tune it in, but here is the first...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

There's always a way and every situation is different. What works for one guy doesn't work for another. Trent's truck is a trailer queen, Pro Street truck on a diet. It comes in on and leaves on a trailer. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's a purpose built truck. The only way...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

Okay, I've been asked this a time or two, so I figured I'd break it down Crayola style so folks could see what you're REALLY in for when you start thinking about going buck wild with the mods. This is an approximation of what you'll spend on PARTS ONLY to make a given amount of HP. This does...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

You must have never seen what the big HP Duramax's run behind them......a 48re. The allison is the best trans in stock form, but in built form, it has too many parts and isn't as strong as a 48. TorqueShifts.......well, let's just say it's a typical Ford product. That friggin thing soaks...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

First, let me preface this with this. I WILL NOT do half azz work. If you don't want it done right and don't want to spend the money on good parts, I'll tell ya to take it somewhere else. Doing things half azz because someone is being cheap causes me azz pain. Cheap parts get cheap results, it's...

She lives, baby! Safe and sound at home tonight. Not many pictures of it going back in.....I think we've seen the trans going in before....

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

Well, I suppose the next thing on the agenda is the drive shaft loops. I already have the front loops, just need to make the rear loops. Here's what I'm thinking. The t-case loop will span the frame rails and will be one piece. The pinion loop will be bolted to the webbing on the diff...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

Honestly, just stick with the AAM u-joints. They're kind of odd ball sized and Spicers and Precisions don't fit perfectly. For them to fi correctly, you either need to machine .010" off the end caps or off the circlips, otherwise they bind the joints a bit and you'll go through them like crazy...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

It's a good thing and a bad thing. The good things is, if I can find it or don't have it, I can make it. The bad thing is, there's so much stuff on this truck that I've made or modified, that I can't just stop at NAPA or O'reilly's and grab what I need if something breaks...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

Okay, that's an adjustable pressure sensor in the governor pressure port. Governor pressure controls several of the transmission functions including shifting and TC lockup. At certain pressure, certain events happen. What that pressure switch is for is so I can make the TC lock-up...

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

Okay, finished the lines to the secondary trans cooler..... And, decided I wasn't happy with having the trans temp sender in the pan and wanted it directly in the hot line, but finding an AN adapter big enough was pissing me off, so I just made one.....

Trans cooler and bumper are back on. Just gotta run the lines today. Got a little distracted doing something else last night.....

The Stealth BOMB'r is under the knife

Thank ya, sir..... It's been an interesting one, that's for sure. Got a few more things in store for it this winter......right now I just want it back together so I can make a few passes before the track shuts down.

Ain't gotta be what mine is.....all it's gotta be is what YOU want. It's like anything else brother, build it for yourself and nobody else, because there is always someone that is gonna hate on what or how you do it. There is a always gonna be the "I woulda done it like this" of "You...
