Food for thought Matt Thanx, got 206.000Km`s (128.000 mils) on the clock, should think about a complete front CV Joint Axle Shaft shift, maybe I'm pushing it to the limit, just now haven't to much time on my hands before the trip to Italy..
You guys have all the good stuff over the there, I'm sure there must be something similar over here but I ain`t seen any, and I'm really not into chemical descriptions so I'll just have to get some sent over , plus I can't read specially the small print..:D
Thanx for the link Mike.
Dennis that's great if you would do that for me and ship, will you ship direct to me or to NJ... looks like I'm in need pretty quick as the journey starts in 4 weeks they can also send them by aeroplane from NJ but the will need some PIA paper work..(would it best to do both sides as they 14yrs...
I've damaged the rubber boot on the front CV axle shaft nearest the wheel.
Looks like I've pinched it as the grease is oozing out with the top of the beaker bar when i was removing the hub assy.
Is it worth trying to repair it if so what would be the best way,I was thinking from the inside...
Didn't consider about the shipping...as when I order from the US delivered to the door it about 1/3 of the price what I will have to cough up here....I'll have to start putting myself in your shoes guys...
Thanx for the advice..bit late in the but the reason I asked coz I spoke to a small local guy and he said to jack it up under the 4x4 or around by the bell house.... Hmm thought I....3ton no way..
Just brought a garage jack were as before used one of those small round hydraulic ones and lifted the truck one side a time.
Where is the most sensible part to place it when lifting up the front at the front on a 4x4.
Over 14yrs of ownership with a very close relationship...:rolleyes5:
DieselCash we will be driving thru Germany at Easter, but wont have time to stop....sorry...
