4K for 6 Freightliner wheels cut down to 22" and the rears surface milled 3/8 per wheel to narrow the rear track, polished all outside wheels. Adapters, Chrome accessories and 6 Falken 285/45/22 mounted and balanced. Each tire is rated at 2600+ lbs. So the weight capacity is actually more than...
Thanks guys! Trying to fix her up little by little. The shoes were a big hit on the pocket!!! I got a good deal on them. Gotta take a breather before I tackle the next project.
I asked about reliable boost................. If one were to try (and I am floored on this one) 30psi I would think they would o-ring the block and heads and use a copper head gasket. I can't even comprehend 60psi on a 6.5. Hats off to you though!
When I rebuild my engine I will deck the pistons and coat the crowns. Let's see how much the block needs to machine off to straighten out the deck. The cost of Marine pistons are ridiculous, and it only requires a little machining to get the numbers needed for 18:1. Also while machining the rods...
Absolutely... I am with you on not wanting to push the engine to failure. I feel my engine now at 13psi with the IC and stock compression is pretty decent for what it is. I'd like to try 20psi with 18:1 but only as long as durability and longevity isn't compromised. I can't imagine trying to run...
SmithvilleD,
Since you are running 18:1 what is the boost level you are running now? And since you dropped your static compression, how much boost do you think your engine would handle?
IIRC GM suggest a vacuum bleed system that pulls from the master to each wheel. I have a Snap On vacuum brake bleeding unit. And it works perfectly everytime.
The pump was good but the steering box had too much slope and I just put 22's on the truck and needed to have it aligned tommorow. So I end up flushing the old fluid out and replenished with new. This kinda freaked me out as when I started it I could not budge the steering wheel. Which prompt me...
Since the brakes gets it's power assist from the power steering pump how do you bleed the system. Iv'e turn the wheel lock to lock many times and the growling still there. Is there a specific procedure for these?
Update!
I set the TDCO today. It was pretty straight forward but had some trial and error (my fault) just getting use to the software. Got the TDCO set to -1.94!!! Thanks again qwomack and AK! You guys rock!
Car Code PC software. It works pretty decent. I know about the 170F I just wondered if the Theft Deterent was touchy. It was a PITA when Heath sent me the new PCM and the guys in shipping sent me the wrong procedure sheet. Bill straightened it out in 5 mins.
Once the IP is adjusted on a 99 3500 with Theft Deterent. Is there a time frame before the KOKO is performed? I hooked up my laptop to view the TDCO and registered a value of 1.68 so I adjusted it to the drivers side and drove home. It really had some power, actually broke the tires loose...
I know Matt, no plowing for me. I like them lifted too! If mine were a 4X4 it would be a set of 22.5's and a slight lift. I like the sporty stance of a dropped truck but when they drag the frame I have to say that is too extreme for my taste.
AK, Yes, the IC makes a big difference on IAT's I think I will one day do some serious reconstruction and fit a bigger one. But for the GM8 turbo this IC works with the flow rates of the turbo. I have a custom 60-1 turbo that I will be using but I will run it with a bigger IC that will flow...
It definetly smoothed the engine quite a bit. I don't know what the difference would be between a stock one and the Fluidampener, but I can say once you do buy one you will never worry about the HB again. I think the motor mounts may need replacing, they look ok but I don't know if it would make...
