World’s largest parade of classic tractors

yep, I'l get them posted. On a sad note, two accidents occurred while loading the trailers. Last night, a tractor rolled off the side of the trailer, the driver was able to get clear. This morning another roll over happened, the driver was killed. My parents were picking up the trailer this...

    Oil filter adapter leaks (seeps)

Well, with my soft cast on, I crawled under the truck yesterday. Pulled the oil filter adapter and cleaned every thing up. Installed new orings and a thin coat of ultra black on the rim & large oring along with the outer bolt oring and a bead around the bolt head. Went to the car wash to...

    Oil filter adapter leaks (seeps)

Reman motor, I think its a HO pump. I thought about surfacing the flange, but any leak from the bolt would need a thicker oring. Suppose I need to locate exactly where the leak is, its been awhile since its been checked.

    Oil filter adapter leaks (seeps)

I'm having problems keeping the oil filter adapter from leaking. I'm ready to replace the 3rd set of orings in 3 years. Both the large housing oring and the bolt oring are leaking. It leaks just enough to be irritating and leave small spots all over the driveway. Looking for idea's. I...

    Can any body help me??

Stalling after cold start and loss of cruise control is a sign of PMD failure in the making. Check your grounds, make sure they are clean. Is your PMD remotely mounted? Where? I had lost my cruise for months, no codes, then it finally started stalling. After replacing the PMD, cruise...

How do you disconnect this harness

Its not a connector, its a water tight pass through. The entire harness bundle passes through the fire wall. You can pull it apart, but that doesn't disconnect any wires, that must be done inside the cab.

How much for a rebuild on a 4L80E?

I just did a Th400 for my nephew, which shares many parts and design with the 4Le80. Master kit was $200 and did not need any hard parts or converter.

Used 1 gallon of coolant in 130 mi

Welcome A quick check for blown head gasket: When cold, start the truck and check the upper hose, if it gets hard right away you have combustion pressure in the coolant. If you suspect a blown gasket, you can verify which side with this check: Remove the belt for the water pump. Remove enough...

    Valve Covers

2x It is absolutely important to clean the matting surfaces. Use a razor on the head to clean the left over gasket, wire wheel the valve covers. Use a cloth with brakeclean, wiping down the sides from the edges of the matting surface about a 1/4". This prevents oil from contaminating the...

    Vacuum solenoid woes (boost control)

Some of us don't want the alternative. Some of us have the air police overlords and don't want any issues with them. Hence must make the stock setup work the best we can. I changed my boost solenoid. It had been performing poorly until it finally threw a code. When monitoring boost...

    Which D Max/

Louis, As a 6.5er that lost an engine, I did look at replacing the truck. I have looked at possibly the LLY or maybe a LBZ. Mainly due to the improved injectors and the external access. It also has the least on the emissions area, no urea injection and does have the mileage complaints that...

    Rebuilding starter? Parts?

Consider a rebulid, I got mine from a local rebulider. If one is in the area, check them out. I saved about $80 over ordering one at the parts store. Soleniod, brush set, bearings, ect. The cost adds up and if the armature is bad, you're in a bad spot.

    Rebuilding starter? Parts?

How old is the starter? Is it original or been rebuilt? If it has high miles the bendix, bushings or solenoid contacts could be worn. For peace of mind, if you can get it to "click click" at home, drop the bell housing cover and verify the starter engaged fully. If it is all the way out...
