I was in a hurry and had a cased of DA (dumb a) disease this morning.
If a mod would delete the other attachment?
My more pressing concern is the additional drop in oil pressure that came up.
Yes, I checked the vac pump and ran with the belt off, sound was still present. I'll have...
Analysis is IN!
Based on my limited knowledge, I'm puzzled now.
The report highlights iron at 181 ppm and chromium at 6 ppm, which are indicated within acceptable limits.
Fuel was <0.1%.
An oil change was not indicated at this time.

Oil sample is sent. I should have a report by the end of the week or so.
Pulled the front axle and the pan. Nothing felt loose on the crank. In the pan / pump pick up, I found a few small cast nuggets and a couple small strips of shiny metal. The cast iron might be flashing that broke free...
I should get a sample, I'm on my second oil change since the incident. Went over 6000 on the first change and almost 4000 on this oil. But I'll feel better after a look and a plastigauge reading!
The engine only has 44K on it. I expect the rods to have the worst wear, then the mains, then...
I've been seeing inconstant oil pressure and voltage readings, especially when the lights are on. This inconsistency seemed to vary, from time to time. Up to a 1.5 v on the volt gauge and 15 psi on the oil gauge. I found my low 25 psi was really closer to 35 / 40 psi.
So my drop in...
I caught a couple deer last fall, one of which snapped my oil cooler. In which I pumped all two gallons on the ground.
After bypassing the oil cooler and dumping two gallons in the pan, I had good oil pressure and drove it.
Fast forward the last 10,00 miles.
I've been watching the oil...
When I snapped all 6 of mine the first time, I removed the manifolds. Several snapped at the head and left a nice stub to get vise grips on. Lots of heat and back and forth to remove them.
The others I had to drill out to the threads. Then ran a tap to chase the threads clean. I was...
There are app's for ODBII code checking on android. They almost all use a bluetooth dongle.
Having Android 1.5 might be problematic. Look carefully before purchase of the dongle and app that version 1.5 is supported. Many of the newer apps have a minimum versions of 2.0 or 2.2.
Any app...
I think I remember seeing the references over on the Page in the member section, under "6.2/6.5 AERA Technical Bul...". (AERA - Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association)
I can't verify since my membership lapsed.
A bad PMD can impact the cruise (prevent engagement of the cruise). Since you just replaced the PMD, Verify your extension cable (is it purchased or mikeymoused?).
While checking the grounds, check the PMD ground wire on the IP. Make sure it is connected to the IP and it is clean.
But as...
i thought is was 250ft/fb, My torque wrench, at the time was a max of 180 or 200. I went to the max and then some, and it still came loose. I did not use any thread locker either. (as in removed the bolt with my fingers after the crank snapped)
I had run across the comments when I was...
How it works:
The solenoid coil is grounded through the stater motor (brushes / commutator).
The S wire should only have voltage (12v) when the Key is in the start position.
If your trying to crank the engine at the starter then shorting battery to the S terminal is correct. (btw, this is a...
I've seen it recommended by one of the engine rebuilders associations to never reuse the HB bolt or washer.
I've also seen references to green loctite on the crank snout to fill in especially around the Key way. Then use red loctite on the bolt.
Anyone seen these recommendations...
Nope, make sure everything is clean and even. Watch for rust chips on the V.
I've had it leak if the V clamp is not tight. I will lift on the down pipe with a bar or jack to assure a tight even seal to the turbo while installing the clamp. This usually prevents leaks.
200 to 210 is not too far out of bounds, but is worrisome.
Check the Radiator fins for plugging. The best way is to remove it so you can look straight in the fins. A trip to the car wash and hot soapy water works wonders. You can wash, installed, from the back side with decent results if...
