    Beyond the suggestions by JiFaire, You may find that removing the exhaust manifold gives you some more clearance. The installation instructions may suggest some RTV around the o-ring. I highly recommend this. The RTV will seal any pitting in the core hole. I did this on both of my block...

    Unable to track down this sound.

    2x See if you can isolate the noise. Take the belt off and run it for a short period, see if the noise goes away. Put your hands on every pulley and give them a spin, see how the feel. I have had a horrible time with alternator bearings.
