I'd watch out for flying shavings if you drill it while its running. Wear safety goggles minimum or maybe even better one of those full face shields. When you cut it off and start tapping the hole, put some bearing grease on the tap so the shavings will stick to the tap. Be careful.
No that's not a streak smarty pants. :)
The other guy is fine, he was in a 2009 KIA that is smashed between the wheels. He had many airbags deployed.
No airbags in my truck other than me.:bigear:
One hand on the wheel, one hand making a shoulder restraint for my boy. I know it today as many...
Well fellas the initial thoughts of the paint guy and the body shop guy are IT'S TOTALED!:frown5:
Pics say it all. Sad day but at least me, my son and my best friends son all walked away. A bump on the head for my son and sore muscles for all 3 of us today. I was traveling around 45 when I laid...
Parts list for adding a starter support bracket:

Yep 94, I just now understood what you meant. Corroded hole in black is right. :willynilly:The GM parts lady told me the same size you did for the bolt, I just didn't catch what you meant.:smash: M8x1.25x18mm is the bolt size GM calls for (its the bolt that holds the bracket to the block for...
Maybe our US currency can gain some international value before its all nailed down. It'll help with the price a lot. The price of metal is climbing too. No shame in making a dollar guys. Personally, I appreciate all the info posted so far along with the openness of the experiment with the...
I believe that would be the evaporator. That tube likely is part of the miniature radiator looking thing(evaporator) inside your dash. I would guess that you will likely have to pull your dash assembly containing that piece and change it out. Do a google search for ac system diagram, then you'll...
The little bracket isn't that hard to put on. You gotta be creative and reach around the suspension and come in from the side to get the bolt in the block. Do the body spin on the ground to change your reaching angle to attach the bracket on the end of the starter. So all you procrastinators...
I think Slim is getting these customized at the manufacturer. The original Mit turbo had to have an exhaust elbow fabricated on it to install it. Slim is trying to get these delivered as a bolt installation with only the oil return line needing to be cut and extended an inch or two with just a...
Leave the caps on the injectors during installation would be the tip I would emphasize x2. Good post Chrisk1500. I would add don't be scared, just jump in there and do it. If you can't get it done in 2 hours but you finish the job in less than 2 days than you're doing better than a lot of...
Well, get out the Vaseline fellas if you decide to get a bracket from the stabber I mean stealer. 1st price 13.66 and gotta order it, second price 16.88 in stock, online 19.** delivered.
I got a couple of grade 12.9 bolts in the exact length, no knurling on the shoulder but both of the old ones...
Sparky, the bolts are already out.
I'm waiting on my local bolt distributor to open Monday so I can get a couple of grade **.* bolts. The * stands for the highest quality bolts they have. I also picked up 2 of the cheap chrome bolts in the help packs today for a get on the road quick fix. I'll...
Well, just a reminder to everyone to check your starter bolts. Mine snapped off. I used a pack of small drill bits that have the quick change adapter on the shaft. Used a 6" bit attachment for an extension, slipped in the bit and started drilling. (WEAR SAFETY GLASSES) Small pilot hole, small...
No tips particular to these trucks but do be careful. You need to vacuum the system down to remove moisture before installing your new freon. In the long run your AC will run much more efficient and consistent. Also don't overcharge the system!
Thanks TD for posting that over here. I won't tell of Slim's plans but I'm sure you know what he's got cooking in the kitchen or overseas as it is. :hand:Looking forward to seeing what you and Heath work out on a tune. I'm dropping 20's in the saving jar so when Slim is ready I am too. :auto...
