Hey thanks much on the congrats! Children are a blessing for sure.
OK, I've seen some of the shuttles with 12-13k hours on them. Should I stay away from something with that high of hours? Know of any reputable re-builders?
Gents:
I'm in the market for a 7.3 shuttle bus for my ever growing family (http://www.ourfullhouse.com/home/14-babies/652-titus-jackson-redman-is-born.html) << baby number 11 is born on the 2nd of Feb.
Anyway, I've been looking at the Champion/International 3400 chassis with the 7.3 (open...
Just received this:
"Hello Andrew,
The military only uses mechanical injector pumps.
We are almost to the end of our 6.5 engines. If the engine you are replacing have an electronic injector pump, just transfer it over to the new engine.
The engines available:

A number of you have given me some very valuable input on the various issues that I've had with the suburban over the past few months, and for that I'm quite grateful. What I'd like now is some feedback on what you would do if you were in my situation. The suburban continues to decline in how...
List of woe's increasing. Started burb the other day and it ran fine. Driving down the road it decided not to shift and any amount/variation of throttle pushing didn't do anything, not even revving up. Drifted off road and shut her down. Started back up and she ran without issue.
More...can...
Interestingly enough, the IP was put in new prior to myself purchasing the vehicle. Perhaps the PO wasn't be honest with me about that...but it surely looked new. I did have to time it correctly after purchasing it though. Perhaps the IP isn't calibrated correctly vs. the FS being defective? Per...
Point of clarification...I was only able to crank it 4 times at less than 10 seconds per crank cycle. The batts are quite old and just died. The black smoke was because I gunned it in ATL traffic :) So when I gunned it, the puff and dying. As a note I've driven it approx 50 miles today without...
Update:
Charged batts, checked FM to ensure fuel was flowing...it was. Forgot that the GP and SES light had been coming on, so realized the ECM fuse must be OK. It started right up without issue. So...again I was driving, pumped the peddle hard and black smoke...like popped the peddle and it...
Morning:
Driving to the FOX Theater in Atlanta last night for an event, we were 5 mins from arrival when I accelerated, black smoke resulted, and it just died. I was unable to get it started.
I put in the spare PMD and nothing. I'm thinking fuel pump or pump relay. Seems to be to be a fuel...
Just checked with old PMD. Injection pulse width error still there...but the old one introduces other DTC's. One thing I'll mentioned...ever since we replaced the computer module, getting it to connect to the software has been a major challenge. Testing the connection proves successful, but...
The PO had the IP installed right before I got the burb. I believe they sold it to me as they had quite a few issues with it still...like the PMD and the head gasket. I have no idea if it was calibrated or not. At this point I'd suggest not, as timing wasn't set correctly when I purchased it...
New PMD kit from Heath, new IP, new injectors, new computer, all the grounds I could find cleaned.
Pulse width showing 2.28 at idle. At approx. 1800 rpm PW shows 1.99.
1. PROM from old PCM into new PCM
2. 4 letter code: BXRL (16244877)
3. Timing procedure run and approx -1.3-4
4. 12mm3 at 190 degrees
5. DTC: 36
6. Tranny DTC: 28 - trans range pressure switch circuit
OK, the transmission error is back and I am unable to clear the error. Secondarily I've replaced the computer and we are getting rough idle at times and also the injection pulse width error. I've gone through the grounds and believe that I've got them all, but not positive. I did use the sheet...
