About the same here ghitch, my wheel speed sensors are busted on both sides. The first one I didn't know about until I had it all together again, the second one I REALLY ****ed up so there was no doubt on the state of that one.. I managed to forget about the dust shield on that first side also...
Don't know if clearance on my truck has any relation to the one on yours but mine rolled on 285 75 16 when I got it with no issues. Don't know the bakspacing of the rims and such though, and I suspect it might have been "cranked" before I got it..?
Not all too enthusiastic about it, might work nice in the wintertime to heat up a bit faster? ;)
Think this one was a tad better for my tastes anyway...
- So that posi lock thing takes care of the front diff engagement (the problem area?).
- The front driveshaft is engaged through the stock system (works fine the way it was originally designed?)
I chose to not think of the hubs for now, it only makes my head spin through the viscous...
Thanks, that explanation accompanied by howstuffworks.com made things a little clearer I think. Only thing confusing now is the talk about keeping the front end locked up without being in 4x4..?
Does anyone know of a place where they explain how this engagement works preferably with pictures, as it's honestly not clear to me. What happens when I push that button and expect all four wheels to propel me forward?
I'm also wondering about those pins, are they some standardized pins you can get at a well supplied electronics outlet? I think I really need to get this mod done..
That would be sweet, I have a hard time visualizing it!
My ohm hunt didn't pan out today. The connections were made with some connector system and I didn't manage to pry the connector to the block heater loose, so I didn't get to measure much. I have a 240v outlet in the cab for a cab...
I measured the resistance earlier and there was plenty as in way too much, several Mohm's. So there is a (good) chance that this is just a connectivity issue? Will go ohm hunting tomorrow then! ;)
Now I'm even more confused ;) How much of the oil would be heated by an oil pan heater, enough to really make a difference? I don't have a clear idea about how the coolant flows so I'm not clear about how such a circulating heater would fit into it. The stock heater is a frost plug type...
Hi
My block heater is dead and I live in a climate where that is a bad thing. I've been thinking about getting a circulating heater as that sounds like a good idea to me.
Something like this:

Would be nice to have a bit more viking grunt in the uncle sam truck so the tires wear out before the rubber gets too old and dries out yes. Just as a safety measure to keep the tires fresh ofcourse. :slomo: And having the torque to put the camper trailer pulling abilities of my dads Audi TDI...
Should have had a truck in a barn that was an ongoing R&D project... *dreaming* Most of my ideas are probably head in the clouds over complicated though, this ATT seems more like a more sensible both feet on the ground no bullshit approach! Both ways have its appeal in different (but similar)...
I want to be on the interested list but it is just wishfull thinking for now really. If my bank account suddenly gets a plus instead of a minus in front of the figures now that's a whole other story! ;) Though if that were the case that twin setup on heaths bonneville rig triggered some gears...
Like the others are saying. When accidents don't have a tragic outcome money is the first thing on our minds, but when tragedy strikes money is the least of our concerns. It stings for sure but things could have been a LOT worse! Try to look past those greens that tends to run our life and...
