My '84 Suburban 6.2 diesel was shifting fine, (tho never had lockup), then on a trip back from Michigan to Adirondacks (2000 miles total), it quit shifting a couple hundred miles from home. It would only shift at way too hi an engine speed, and I tried rocking shifter, stabbing gas pedal...
My loss, your gain. The truck is parked till I find the time... I had the same bolt loose on wife's '95 Sub 6.5. I loosened bolt, worried it would break, it was mint!
So I decided to change the tranny oil on Mrs '95 Sub., and I thot I had a filter, but it was for a 700R4, so called FLAP accross town, and $14 from Taiwan w gasket, but the auto part around the corner is alot closer, so they sell Hastings, Made In USA, but it lists for $44, and I paid $33. I...
The bolt snapped, it was rusted 3/4 the way thru, so nothing I could have done differently. S I drilled the broken bolt, and drilled and DRILLED and D R I L L E D then broke a tap in the block, and extracted it w a special tool, and here's the damage
We won't be selling this Sub any time soon. I own several others, and for what I paid, $2800 + new wheels tires $1100, + paint $1000, it's a great truck except for the engine trouble. Tranny will prolly be next, reverse is slow, but my mechanic (who I hope will do the engine work) is also a...

With all the shortcomings of the 6.5's, and we only put on 10-12k a year, so anything I put in will last forever, and we seldom pull a trailer... I dunno if Mrs will go for anything used... I've done used for the 20+ years we've been married, usually with good results, but she only remembers the...

Our 1995 Suburban has been using a bit of anti freeze, and now it runs ruff on cold start up. Sounds like it's firing into the air cleaner, but it goes away after a few seconds or a minute, then runs perfect.
It has a bit of blowby, but with 252k, and always good maintenance, it's not too bad...
I have the Timken hub in hand, made in USA, for now. Google Mitt Romney AC Delco China, and see how patriotic he is...

The Timken is MADE IN USA, and my rotors are like new. If they weren't... and an AC Delco water pump for my 6.2 was made in China, same as the NAPA one, but a different casting
